This is our favorite restaurant for Thai food in Venice. They have a great mix of options from American food to Thai food. The Thai menu has never disappointed and the Panang curry is delicious with depth in flavor and just the right amount of heat and sweet. The staff have always been courteous and polite but our favorite server is Tony. He is very friendly and takes the time to engage in conversation with our whole family and we truly felt as if we were his only customers with a full restaurant. He also took the time to check for dietary needs for our party and made great suggestions of menu options that would work for us. If you are looking for amazing Thai food and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere I highly suggest The Sand Trap Sports Bar & Grill.

Johan is the best. Have a seat at the bar, relax and enjoy some delicious Thai. The Massaman Curry is awesome. Their Thai food is much better than their American. Busy place, especially during season, but they do a great job taking care of all their customers.

Two menus. A very good proper pub menu and also a Thai menu. I had fish sandwich and it was extremely fresh and blackened perfectly. The bun was extremely good though it did break apart a bit. Wouldn't stop me from ordering it again. I saw some of the Thai cuisine go out to some tables and it looked and smelled excellent. I remember this place from it's previous ownership and decor and liked it back then also. But this takes more of a pub approach and looks to be a Boston bar.Awesome staff and extremely friendly and professional! It's obvious they work extremely hard and take great pride in what they're doing and I cannot wait to go back, next time I'm in town! I highly recommend this establishment! It's hard to get excellent food AND excellent service under the same roof these days, but the sand trap without a doubt delivers on all accounts! They deserve your service and generous tips and they deserve to be busy nonstop all day. It was packed when my mom and I left for lunch a few days ago and I can totally see why.Cheers!

I have been coming here every time I travel to Florida. The Thai food is delicious. This most recent trip I was in the area for about two weeks. We ended up dining here 4 times during the 2 weeks! Two things to note- first on our first trip. Our server was a tall young man with a name tag “Tony”. Excellent kid- very efficient, well mannered, and very observant. This kid deserves a medal. Second note, and reason why 4 stars not 5. On our final outing here for this trip to Florida we had a young man as a server wearing a name tag “Anthony” but not the same kid as the other time we went a week before. This young man was almost as attentive and pleasant as “Tony”. This kid Anthony deserves a metal too- great well mannered kid. Nice to see these days. Anyways, the kitchen kept trying to force him to bring out my $25 steak dinner (chef special on American menu) which I have never ordered. Mind you we haven’t even gotten our two appetizers yet at this point. He finally came out and said “they keep making me bring this out so it doesn’t over cook” I get the plate and 80% of the steak is grey and has the consistency of boot leather. Anthony did the right thing by removing this meal from our bill as I refused to eat it. I ordered the steak medium rare. This is NOT a post to bash Sand Trap. WE LOVE SAND TRAP. I just hope someone from the kitchen sees this!! Anthony you did the right thing and thank you for being a great waiter. Can’t wait for our next trip. Overall- EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT SERVICE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!! Go check it out!!

I’m only giving 3 stars for this restaurant because I want to try it again. My experience was with $6 domestic beers (ouch) & an $8.95 (4) quarter sized steamed dumpling appetizer. They was small and had zero flavor, other than the soy variation dipping sauce that tasted burnt. The restaurant was crowed so they must have good food in general, but it’s definitely not a place for cocktails & appetizers

Quirky restaurant/pub. Love sitting at the bar. They have these great bar wooden trays that make it easier to eat there. Food is great. Very good value. The bar tender / owner is a delight . This staff works hard . Nothing fancy just real. Not a beer drinker but typical bar . Wine seem to go fast too. Definitely a local spot

Very nice place, food is good but a little pricey. Noodles dishes with one meat around $17 for dinner. Here's all you need to know. Probably the only bar I've ever heard of that does not have a Happy Hour!!!! I was told it is because they don't need to!C'mon Sand Trap you can do better than $5 draft beer always just because you can. Cater to the non retired crowd that would like $3.50 draft occasionally!

My Lunch group ate here today and had a great relaxed experience. American and Thai menus are available. All in our group chose Thai. Everyone, including our vegetarian really liked their choice.

Nice restaurant. Food was good. Our party had the burgers and everyone thought them delicious. My club wrap was good.

Busy spot and after you dine you will see why. Cold brew fast service. Friendly.
