This place is my favorite hibachi restaurant. I have been coming here for 20 years. They are fun and love to joke around and are very accommodating. Very comfortable atmosphere, and their food and recipes are the best. The flavor profiles they have developed are indescribably complex and delicious.
Paid $100 for 3 small dinners no alcohol... we got an old white American Hibachi chef that seemed like it was his first week. He could barely cook one thing at a time and absolutely massacred the fried rice. He let the bottom completely burn then tried to hurry up and mix it together when he noticed. It was mushy AF with lovely pieces of burnt rice throughout that were hard as a rock. Not that it mattered I didnt eat it but the rice portion was tiny compared to other hibachi places. There was a to-go box at our table of 5 and that box had its steak cooked before 2 people in our group had theirs even started (as they waited with burnt rice for some meat.) Then the entire staff seemed eager to leave at 8pm when they close at 8:30 (we arrived at 7pm) they were literally sweeping under our feet and trying to take away the last two peoples plates while they still had several steak bites on it and were actively eating. Worst Hibachi experience of my life!!!! I understand it's only half a table and towards closing but d*%n
Second time here at this location.What can I say ??.. Had an awesome fun time here with friends and our chief who made out food in front of us was entertainment. Telling jokes and us telling him jokes..just a blast !!! Go there and have a good time.
No visit to Venice is complete without a meal at Shogun. Chef Steve has been expertly cooking and entertaining us for years. The food is always great and the experience is always fun.

Ordered the filet mignon and scallops and was very disappointed in quality of meat. Very tough. Asked another at the table to sample and he agreed it was very tough for a filet. It seemed more like a sirloin. After mentioning it to management, they rudely insisted it was a filet. I dropped issue and the bill was paid. If you are looking for any wine selection, it's not here.

The food was really good and we ate off of their early bird menu right on the first page. It's so much fun meeting friends ? and seeing your chef cook your food in front of you!! He was excellent with his art on the grill and tricks!! The wait staff was excellent!!
