The steak was tough with too much fat and gristle (NY Strip). It was a big disappointment.
We were looking for some nicer fare in the Venice area, and we couldn't be happier with our experience at Prime Steakhouse. The staff were all very friendly and nice. Every single aspect of the food was phenomenal. Everything from the salad to the Prime Rib, and even down to the blue cheese butter on some steaks were all fantastic. And the mile-high chocolate cake was delicious and huge! They also have a kids menu! And our server (Spencer) went the extra mile to take care of our kids and make sure they were fed and happy!
I truly enjoyed dinner there tonight with my family for my birthday. The staff was super. We had the pleasure of having two waiters serve us tonight who were fantastic and made sure that the night was flawless for everyone. I highly recommend this place for food and professionalism.
There’s so many terrible things about this location. The cooks have no idea what a Pittsburgh style steak is. The manager Jackie seemed to be on heavy drugs. Our waiter delivered our wine and asked us to “taste it” to make sure it was the right one. After ordering and receiving the porterhouse NOT Pittsburgh style the manager Jackie tried to fix it by sending it back and saying “this is our reverse Pittsburgh style” overcooked and burnt. She did try to fix it by making a new one but clearly by the photos (pic1) the cooks only seared the outside but the inside was raw and freezing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY or TIME! Drive to Sarasota and go to a real steakhouse.
I've been there many times and allways a great steak! It's hard to find a place that is consistently excellent. I never write reviews but Hailey was an excellent hostess! By far the best of the bunch!
Great dining experience at PRIME Steakhouse in Venice. We ordered the 2 for $40 special. The NY Strip Steaks were tasty and nicely cooked. Dinner even included dessert. Our server Zach was attentive and friendly. Positive dining experience!!!
Good steak , good food… Nice place Friendly staff Affordable price
This was an amazing experience, we live very close but waited until season was over to try this new restaurant in Venice. Jonathan made it A joyful afternoon. We also had Stacy the manager come and say hello to us, so friendly. This is just a few pictures of what we had, including Bacon and eggs which was truffle deviled eggs and pork. My husband Greg had the blackened and I had the drunken sailor steak. So delicious. We will be back, and we will be regulars.
Excellent service, great selection of items to choose from & they even give recommendations for entrées and wine pairing. Had the beef wellington with a glass of box head Shiraz. It came with a house salad, tossed in a peppercorn vinaigrette, and freshly baked bread with two kinds of butter. First time at a Prime Steakhouse. It won't be my last! If you're in the downtown Venice area looking for a great place to eat, you should try it. There's another location in Port Charlotte if that's closer. I'm sure it's just as good, but will let you know after I go.
Atmosphere is good but food need work to justify pricingPrime is a new addition to Venice and positioned half-way between your typical outback/longhorn and a Capital Grill/Morton's (~$40-$50/person).It is a large restaurant with good seating, a piano playing for dinner, and well furnished atmosphere needing no improvement.Service was fairly good, particularly given everyone being short-staffed. Megan was a great server. The main shortcoming preventing Prime from being a great new addition to the community atm is the food. I had a fillet with broccoli and a potato as sides. The fillet was slightly overdone for medium and had very little seasoning. A little more dry rub seasoning and a little less grilling would have helped a fair bit. The broccoli was not cut/served with stems. The potato was a good size.If your going to spend this amount of money, Rosebuds has better food quality, if not as good atmosphere, while the Outback down the road has as good food quality while being 25% less expensive.
