This is the best southern food I've ever had! I had the grouper, and it was delicious. Super flavorful. All the sides we ordered were amazing. I particularly recommend the okra and the brussel sprouts (surprising I know). The banana pudding is exactly what you want from southern banana pudding and I loved every bite, and the carrot souffle was a surprising gem! And the service was amazing! The waitress who served us was so patient with all our questions and was so friendly.

Absolutely wonderful! Came here with a large group and the staff is phenomenal. The food delicious and plentiful!! Portion sizes huge! I would not hesitate to visit again and try other items on the menu. The Meatloaf and Fried Chicken are highly recommended.

Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing!!! The staff is so kind and attentive. The food is SOOOO good!!! The fried chicken was so moist and delicious!!! My husband got the BBQ meatloaf which was great as well!!! My family and I are huge food network fans and the kids were so excited to meet the owner and get a picture with him! He talked with us for a while and was super awesome! Love love love this place!! Highly reccomended!!!

The food was DELICIOUS and the service was great. Very friendly staff and owner. They made me feel at home. If I didnt live an hour away, I would be here every week and TWICE on Sundays. 10/10. Highly recommend!

We stumbled across this place a few weeks ago while traveling and found the food to be delicious and true to southern style cooking. My husband who is extremely picky really enjoyed it. Heading there now to give them another try.Kids chicken tenders are homemade and fresh. Fried green tomatoes, oxtails, pork chop are tasty. If your not used too smothered foods ask for the gravy on the side.

Plan to arrive early and spend the whole day. The Kennedy Space Center is like a cross between amusement park and Museum. FUN!

Do not leave this area without getting a taste of Soul Food. We’ve eaten here 7 times trying something new with each meal and never once were we disappointed. Each server we had was friendly and accommodating. I really can’t say what my favorite meal was they were all so delicious but on our last day in the area I remembered to take a photo. I ordered the turkey wings and rice with a double green as my side. For appetizers we had the fried gizzards it was all so amazingly delicious.

Fried chicken was phenomenal! Great atmosphere . Owner was friendly and spoke to all the guests!! Don't miss this experience!

Great food, a little different from the average menu. Wonderful change of pace. Oxtail really tasty. Nice people.

Vacationed in Cocoa Beach but stumbled upon amazing Google reviews when searching for a place to eat. Figured it must be worth the half hour drive with all the five star reviews and one saying it was "literally better than Paula Dean". Wrong. Let me first start with the GOOD: Clean, nice & simple decor, efficient waiter, and Loyd himself came over to chat with us and genuinely cared if we had enjoyed everything. I fibbed and said yes. The BAD: Hubby got fried chicken, collards, and mac n cheese. He said everything was fine but he's not the type to complain. I tasted his greens which were very good. I also tasted his mac n cheese which was terrible. Just tasteless white oily shells, not macaroni/elbow pasta with American cheese. I ordered chicken gizzards (too tough to chew so I ate 3 and threw the rest away), fried green tomatoes (just salted batter over a tomato, no other seasonings like cayenne nor a dipping sauce) fried okra (same sadness) and mashed potatoes (tasted like the dehydrated kind they gave you in elementary school and it was drowned in gravy). I'm from NC and this was nothing like grandma used to cook. If you go, order the greens and nothing else. But that would be wierd. The UGLY: On top of this, although the restaurant was empty when we arrived, they seated all the newcomers with us up against the wall back to back in the booths when they could've easily social distanced us. Perhaps that's a Florida thing: they think Covid is over? At least all staff were masked. Adding insult to injury, the people seated behind us were allowed to bring their CHIHUAHUA in and lick up the crumbs on their table. I'm not even lying. A DOG was at their table and nothing was said. These were not blind folks who needed a service dog...soooo.... yeah. Gross. I left with an upset tummy due to too much fried foods and too little bang for our buck. Overall last thoughts: Very sad that we drove so far and I was so disappointed. I love supporting small black owned businesses but I can't reccomend this restaurant. Perhaps if you're from a region of the country where you have no clue what southern soul food should taste like you might give this a try. If you're from the South and know that mac n cheese should be orange elbow pasta, not limp shells with white oily clumps, keep driving. I apologize for the long review; I'm a true foodie! :)
