1. Food is good, front staff is good,2. The wait for food is longer then usual but that isn't why I rated it only 33. The waitresses are ok with customers but will Interrupt you mid order, I ordered a rib and chicken and right when I was going to order sides my waitress cut me off in the middle of ordering.

No hostess, nobody at bar.Took 20 minutes of waiting at the bar to get my PICK-UP order I placed 40 minutes prior.. I literally had to walk into the kitchen because nobody was there to help after trying to get someone’s attention.. The lady I assumed was manager got attitude with me after I said I’ve been waiting said “you at least have to stand where we can see you”.You have to open your eyes to see customers believe it or not…I usually come here once or twice a week for to-go lunch and never had a bad experience but whatever was going on today has me going elsewhere for my food.

Great food, price was fair, and you can't beat the smoked brisket. Very good. Only complaint was the service, they were understaffed as most places are, still was great.

Muy limpio y buen servicio , buena comida! Y precios módicos.

Food was pretty good, especially the sides. Our server did her best, but they were very short staffed. We waited a full 10 minutes to even be acknowledged at the hostess stand, even though several staff members passed us. I never did see a manager.

Seating was plentiful for our early April dinner. The brisket and grilled cheese and Cuban sandwichs were delicious. Portions were smaller than I expected (except the iced tea). Service was not very attentive. Plenty of free parking nearby.

I understand establishments are short handed, however that does not allow for service with an attitude. Bartender was rude and not helpful. The restaurant was not very busy. Plenty of bar seats and tables available. The manager gave lip service but really doesn't care nor will any action be taken. Don't come to Sony's in sumnter expecting decent servive.

Sonny's Sampler Platter was enough for both of us to eat, had I known that, I would have not ordered the 1/2 chicken. Leftovers are wonderful ?

Our go to especially since it is in Sumter Landing (our favorite square), so we can dine on smoked BBQ, then walk the square and listen to the music. It makes for a perfect evening. Within the last several months, we feel the food quality has improved. We have our favorite servers, Kim, Dan, and Danny!!!! Excellent BBQ, great service, and fair prices. What more could you ask for???

Sonny's is a classic brick-and-mortar Que restaurant. I mean that in a good way. There is indoor and outoor seating (we were outside, but covered). It's a bit above a side-of-the-road BBQ pit, but also not so fancy that I felt out of place in shorts and a T-Shirt - just down home style pleasant. The food was pretty good. I really enjoyed their Brisket Grilled Cheese on Texas Toast. It was a great combination of chopped Brisket with gooey cheddar on just-right toasted Texas Toast. I tried my wife's Chicken Wings and unfortunately, they were really not great - good, but not great. They lacked any real flavor on their own, but our table had plenty of sauces to lather on if you like that sort of thing. Unfortunately, neither of us do. She and I were hoping for better seasoning and a smokey char on the wings - there was not. Their fried pickles hit all the right spots, and their corn nuggets were pretty good too. Nice selection of beers and wines. I tried a dark ale that really was very good. I recommend this BBQ joint for lunch or a casual dinner.
