Came to the villages on a day trip and ate at Cody's. The food was good, the views better, and the staff excellent. I had the prime rib it was delicious, however, there was a big ol' hunk of fat that could have been cut off. The cake at the end of the meal was gigantic and rich. 9/10 will come again.

The bread was really soft and tasted delicious, but that's all that was good. The butter that comes with the bread had too much cinnamon. The french onion soup was extremely salty and full of burnt onions. Salad was ok. They brough it in a big aluminum bowl that was half the size of our table. The steaks were horrible. Very dry and tasteless. The medium rare had no pink in it. They really don't know how to cook steaks. When we questioned the waitress, she replied with an attitude "that's because we don't put salt, that's why we give you the sauce". Not even salt? We did not like the "sauce". The beer was draft Stella and did not taste like Stela. Not sure what they mixed it with. The water tasted bad. We told you it all stopped at the bread. The place was half empty. yet everything took a long time. Stay away. We will. There are many other choices in the area.

Great atmosphere! Although Cody’s was super busy on a Saturday night, we took advantage of their two for one drinks at the bar and before we knew it we were seated. I wish I could remember our waiter’s name. He made sure we were having a good time, he got our party of 4 orders correct and made sure we he stayed on top of our needs. The food was delicious. 3 of us had steaks they were cooked perfectly. My mom got the ribs, which was a huge portion, plenty for her to take home and serve as another meal. Definitely going back the next time we are in the Villages.

Maybe I'm feeling peer pressure by not giving Cody 4 stars. I really liked the place is big and can accommodate a lot of people. The place is situated on a beautiful lake. The bar is big. Plenty of seating inside or out. It's 2022 and the service is what it is, which in my experience wasn't half bad. We did wait while the host juggled phone calls and acknowledged us. The food portions are huge and the house salad served tableside in a giant metal bowl was to die for. who knew iceberg lettuce was so tasty. I had the shrimp/beef poke bowl. Great flavor and a ton of food. I/2 of chicken was on point as well as coconut shrimp. The prices considering what is happening with inflation were very reasonable Granted we arrived a little before noon so the place wasn't too busy but all in all, it was a great experience. The people of the Villages are very lucky to have an eating establishment like Cody's as a restaurant choice. Support them, they are worth not losing!

As the title says, bar food that is overpriced and your quality of service will vary from minute to minute. We waited an hour for a table after being told 15-20 minutes. We finally asked about a table and were told oh your table is ready now! We received prompt service for our drink order but she disappeared after that. She finally reappeared and took a drink refill order and an app order. She returned with the drinks and took our entre order. We did not see her or our app for quite some time! The app finally appeared along with the entre about 2 minutes later. App was cold, had probably been sitting at the window. Nice view and all but do not expect great service or food.

This was our first visit. We were delighted with the fun and inviting decor. Everyone was very friendly and watched out for all the tables - not just their own. Loved that they offered the fish as: grilled, fried or blackened. Great value and portions.

Fun place, good food and service. Outdoor seating is difficult to get as it fills up fast. Will definitely be back.

After spending 4 hours at Lake Sumter Square watching the great entertainment, restaurants still open after 9 pm are difficult to find, we had tried the others and decided to give it a try…food was average but the service was good.

Where do I start? Our reservation was for 4:30. We were not seated until 5:15. They said the people at the table before us were done but they were talking and they were not allowed to say anything to them. Please. That’s crap in the first place and in the second place, figure it out!, don’t keep customers with a reservation and children waiting. Once seated, it took forever to get the food, the waitress got almost all the orders wrong, the food honestly wasn’t that good, and then the bill was wrong. We were there for 3 1/2 hours! We started joking that we lived there now… we couldn’t wait to leave, and I am sure they told a party or parties waiting that we were done but were just talking. Never… going… back

The restaurant is in a great location on Sumter Landing here in the Villages. Without reservations we waited approximately 45 minutes for a table. The time passed quickly as it was “happy hour” therefore we got a couple of cocktails and sat outside with a view of the lake. Now, to the important part, the food! My wife had the rice bowl with a combination of beef and chicken. She really enjoyed the meal. I had a New York strip cooked medium rare just as I had ordered it. The steak was outstanding!!! As an aside, we were here (The Villages) in August to celebrate her birthday. So I had made reservations at the Chophouse. Ordered the same steak which was 3 times more expensive and it was one of the least enjoyable piece of meat I ever had the displeasure of eating. I had posted a review of that really bad restaurant experience. Moral being you don’t always get what you pay for. Obviously, I do recommend Cody’s as a fun place to eat with a good wait staff and live music.
