Went for lunch today with my wife. She got the bottomless soup and salad. The minestrone was a step above dishwater and the chicken soup was 2 steps above dishwater. I got the chicken Parmesan sandwich which was served on a sweet hamburger bun. Never would’ve thought a chicken parm sandwich would be served that way. The pasta served with it was edible. Our waitress was average. All in all it seemed like they are trying to thin things out and make portions way small. Most likely will not go back
always consistent good food -- great pasta, chicken, seafood and meat dishes and good salads, nice selection of drinks, good service.
FYI: the sides for the entrees are not all included! In small print, especially when lighting is low, it's hard to see, and the menu is not clear. The bottom 3 sides listed are extra ranging from $1-$4.49, I believe? They include Asparagus, Spinach and some Pasta. Carrabba's should have the sides listed as other restaurants have them as: "Regular Sides" and "Premium Sides" for additional $2.50+ cost. When we got the $96 bill we were surprised at the cost of these additional charges, and the waitress made a snotty remark at how "NEXT time we came in, she'd Make sure to let us know that there's a difference in the price of sides." Although we love to come here, we only get here about 2x a year. And Uh no, that's not how you address customers concerns. There should at least be an apology in there.
The food was delectable. I’m not a big steak fan, but I decided to shake it up and order a sirloin (seen below), and I was reminded of the true flavorful potential of steak. It was thick, perfectly cooked, and there was minimal fat. Additionally, my side order of a bowl of mama mondola’s chicken soup was wonderfully tasty and one of the better ones I’ve had. The rest of my party loved their food, which ranged from the shrimp linguine to the chicken parm and the Mahi Mahi. Our waitress Tabitha was quick, efficient, and friendly. It was a bit pricey, and we probably waited about 45-an hour for our food.
Drew (our server) made the experience great! Our food was wonderful - but that is typically the case for us here. Tonight’s difference that warranted the review - was our server, Drew! He should get a raise.
Everything that could go wrong, did. I'll start from the beginning. I ordered a Sangria and my wife ordered a mango margarita. Waiter said they did have a mango margarita. 15 minutes go by, still no bread.....only to be told they do not have mango margaritas. Okay, no problem. Wife gets hot tea, instead and we order food. Then we get bread after we ordered. Soup and salad comes out and before we can take one bite, here comes the entrees. We get an apology for that. Okay, no problem. Then after taking a second bite of my pollo rosa maria, I see that it is cold, wet and pink. That was on the edge. I can imagine what it was like if I had cut it down the center. I mean, not even close to being cooked. So, now I am aggravated. That gets sent back. Manager comes and confirms it was not cooked and it was "rushed". Why was it rushed? We had just been served soup and salads less than minute before it was served. At this point I want nothing more to eat, after some raw chicken in my stomach. So, the bill comes. I am charged around $48 for a simple chicken entree and one Sangria and a cup of hot tea. Why, you ask? Because the mango margarita that the waiter says they have but they don't, was on my bill. Before we left the manager said she knew we had a bad experience and said if we came back to ask for someone (don't remember name)and they would give us a free meal. Why not make it right, right there and then? Raw chicken? Really? At minimum, my wife's meal should have been free. I can look past some mistakes, but the raw chicken and a looong wait time for drinks and bread, with only half capacity, was a deal breaker for me. I've been to 5 different locations and this one was absolutely the worst.
The manager was apologetic and wanted to take the meal off the bill but that isn't how we roll. The waitress started our mood by complaining about her day. She asked if she could get us some bread. When she brought the bread she said she would bring us some herbs. She got and brought the drinks and no herbs. She got and brought the appetizer and no herbs. We ordered our meal and my husband was specific. Spaghetti no sauce...sauce on the side and italian sausage. She asked if we were sure he didn't want meatballs or meat sauce. We said no...just italian sausage in the bowl with noodles and sauce on the side. My mom ordered 2 appetizers as her meal and she loved it! My husband got everything in his spaghetti which had to go back and i got linguini chicken Positano...the chicken wasn't done and went back. I had to find all the chicken under the noodles when it came back and it still wasn't done. I told the manager and he understood exactly how chicken should be when it was done right...but it was very chewy and not done. I was done at that point and was very disappointed in the fact that our bill was so high for basically spaghetti.
Nice dinner here tonight. We had the pork chop with asparagus and fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and spaghetti with meat sauce. Everything was delicious and Austin was a great waiter.
Had dinner here this week with another couple. All of us had eaten here several times in the past. Seated right away and server, Johnny was very efficient and helpful. Drinks and bread brought to table. Meals ordered and salads brought out . I will say, all meals brought out as ordered , and we were happy with the portions and taste. The only issue we had with three of the meals was the temperature. Not cold, but definitely not very hot as would be expected. We did not send anything back, but did let our waiter know . We all believe a big plus would be to “heat” the plates the food is served on. Other than this one issue, everything was fine.
