We had great service and amazing food! The flaming cheese was a hit! The Greek sampler platter appetizer was enough for a whole meal!
Ate there with friends 4 years ago and remembered it as pretty good, wanted to go back with spouse and cousin (who is Greek) and we were all disappointed with the food. Souvlaki meat, pork and chicken was dry and tasteless, special lamb chops were tough without flavor despite marinade which was the best thing on the plate sopped up with bread. A nearby store gives out cards with her name and recommends Mama’s, another customer came over to give us the same card for the “discount” that he didn’t need. I suspect this is a bit of a tourist thing. Will try another restaurant for good Greek food next time.
One of the few places open on Monday, we stopped by Mama's which came highly recommended by a friend in Tampa. The server was incredibly nice and attentive and quick to recommend dishes and specials. The saganaki was tasty and the grouper absolutely heavenly. But my favorite were the Greek potatoes and lemon chicken soup. A wonderful place to relax and catch a good meal. Will be back.
If you are trying to decide what Greek restaurant to eat at, choose Mamas. I went for my mother’s 81st birthday and all I have to say is WOW! This restaurant was the BEST Greek restaurant I’ve had in a long time. The food was soooo fresh and so tasty. My daughter has many allergies and she was taken care of and it was very safe for her to eat. It was actually the only restaurant in the area that accommodated to her food allergies. We ordered the lamb and it was so tender, delicious, and cooked to perfection! We had Sia as our waitress and let me just say we LOVED HER! She was super super sweet and her personality was so bubbly and friendly!! She was so attentive and took care of my mother like she was family. We went on a Friday night and there was live music and everyone was singing and dancing, it was a beautiful experience. My 81 year old mother even got up and danced and our waitress Sia offered to record this amazing moment! We couldn’t get enough! The service 10/10, the food 10/10, the atmosphere 10/10, overall experience 10/10…. And you know the food HAS to be delicious if Greek people are eating there as well!
Service was fair food was fair at best. Only restaurant I ve ever been to that charged me extra for using a credit card. I understand that this is actually against the law in the state of Florida
What a quaint experience, we sat at the bar for lunch, bartender was friendly and helped with food choices, we went with the flaming cheese on pita, and also got the Greek French fries. Both dishes where easily 10/10 the cheese was cooked just right, with the correct amount of flame. The fries where the first time getting and it wasn't a mistake, they are topped with some feta cheese and a lemon oil basil is pour over. ?? beautiful.The beers are 2 for 1 which is the best in all of the sponge docks! If your thinking about stopping by the sponge docks, you gotta stop at Mama's! ??
I like to experiment with food and Greek food was not very familiar until about a year and a half ago when I started going to Mama’s. The food is delicious I have tried many things from the Greek menu and my all time favorite is the lamb - succulent, tender and delicious.
The food and service here is fantastic. We had a large group of 8 walk in and we were seated immediately and we were served remarkably quickly considering it was lunch time. All of the entrees were hot and delicious and the server was great.
Food was excellent and staff was friendly and helpful. Inside and outside seating with live misicon certain nights. Will definitely go back, highly recommend to anybody looking for great Greek food and a fun atmosphere.
My go to when in tarpon springs. Food and hospitality is 2nd to none! I have brought so many guests here. Good drinks, great gyros and many options. Very reasonable pricing. Must try
