There is rarely an experience when you travel that can keep certain culinary senses wanting for more and wishing you were closer to a certain eatery than you normally are! Katerina’s Taverna & Grill Greek Restaurant is one of them. Wow, how I wish we had Katerina’s here in the Valley of the Sun. Rarely have we experienced Greek cuisine at its utmost excellence, and we had to travel to Tarpon Springs, Florida for it – home of the largest Greek enclave in the U.S. While on vacation in Florida, visiting spots like, Tampa, Clearwater, Sanibel Island and other locations… we discovered this incredible eatery. It’s indoor modest applications and appearance of a low-key subtle interior, but substantial covered and colorful railing outdoor seating area, with its traditional Greek color schemes gives Katerina’s the feel of a Greek café nearby a fishing hamlet (which it is). Stopping in for lunch we savored Mythos Lager, Ice Tea and worked on fresh Gulf Shrimp; one of the best Red Snapper I’ve ever tasted; and a refreshing, fresh and delish Greek Salad; and great locally baked Bread brought by the owner as we were enjoying our outdoor patio appetizers. While at Tarpon Springs you gotta go here… Opa! And Kudos Katerina- we will be back!

Cute little Greek restaurant in Tarpon Springs. The outdoor seating was very nice. Food and wines are authentic Greek and very well-seasoned. Nice people, you could tell they had a few regulars stopping in. Nice atmosphere too.
Friendly service and great food. I was recommended the stuffed peppers which were delicious and a very good portion. I had the Greek coffee and baklava afterwards.
Stopped by for lunch today. Lots of guests today. Had a really good Greek salad. Good and quick service. There are many Greek restaurants in town, but this one is among the better places.
Very enjoyable little place located south of the sponge docks. Friendly waitress was helpful in selecting food choices. The lamb chops were excellent with almost no fat, were garnished with some type of sauce that was an interesting switch from mint jelly. Glad we decided to stop there instead of going to the sponge docks. Nice outside dining area but too hot for us today.And Greek beer of course.
The food was so good that I came back the next day for more and too tasty to stop long enough to take a photo but slowed down for the photo of the desserts to go. Couldn't decide on just one. If you are in Tarpon Springs and want delicious Greek food, make the trip to Katerina's! Try the Grilled Seafood...try everything.
