I stopped in The Pub before going into the International Mall & I’m glad I did. It was just after lunchtime & the pub was quiet, the bartender was friendly, sociable, efficient & makes a killer Irish Mule. The atmosphere is old British or Irish pub, with the typical dark woods & was comfortable, cozy without being cramped. I ordered one of their July menu specials, beef bourguignon, a French stew dish. It was extremely good & made me think of my 1st Cousin who made this while I was visiting her in France. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a beer that would compliment the stew & his selection of draft Smithwicks was spot on. Overall, while it was very pleasant for a late lunch, it can probably become hectic in the evenings & on weekends. I highly recommend The Pub for a late weekday lunch.
I Really like the International Plaza! The Atmosphere is high Energy and There is a lot do and some really good places to eat there. I been to the Pub Many Times And there Fish&Chips are the Best in Tampa Bay. The Pub reminds me of a British Bar in England.
Today I visited The Pub for lunch. The wait staff was friendly and timely to get us and get our beverage order. Afterwards the table ordered many different dishes. I order the fish and chips I would give the amount 8/10. Great food! The slaw had too much mayonnaise for me. My daughter ordered the shepherds pie and would rate it a 7/10. Another person ordered the bangers and mash she enjoyed and had no complaints.For a appetizer we tried some scotch eggs. I’d give them an 8/10.The atmosphere made you feel like you were in a Pub in London. The bar was beautiful and the bench seats were cozy.
I went to The Pub for my birthday brunch. I saw on their website they boast about their Award Winning Fish n' Chips being the best in the US. That's a big claim. I've had fish n' chips all over; both east and west coast and in a couple of places in FL. Well, long story short it was not the best Fish n' Chips I've ever had in the US or Florida. Maloney's is better. First of all, there weren't enough chips. The pic below is BEFORE I ate any chips! Where are they? It's more like Fish n' Chip, not Chips. Also, no malt vinegar? I thought they were British? The fish was crisp on top but the bottom was soggy and the fish itself was a bit overcooked.I also ordered the Old Speckled Hen English Fine Ale. It took a long time, the server said they were having some issues with the tap or something but when I finally got it, it was half foam; they didn't top it up.The server was nice and my friend really liked the shepard's pie she ordered but for me, this place was just OK. I love the decor and the outside patio was nice. But if you make a claim like having the best of anything you really gotta bring the A-game, anything less is a letdown.
Usually don't expect much from places in malls, but this place breaks the mold.Excellent selection of beers, wish I had time to try more of them.Food was very good. We tried several items and enjoyed them all.
Went to lunch with my wife decided to sit at the bar and order a burger and have a beer and immediately was confronted with the sour puss face of the bartender I don’t know if he was upset that he had to wear a skirt to work or what his problem was but he never checked on us never ask if the meal was cooked well never ask if I wanted another beer was just the worst service and bartender that I’ve ever experienced anywhere.
After flying in that afternoon, we walked over here from our hotel to find a place to eat. After stopping at another restaurant, only to be told there was a 45 minute wait, we came back here. And we're glad we did! We got a table right away on the outdoor patio. It was so nice out, coming from a cold weather place. Even though the temps were unseasonably cool for this area. Our waiter, Samuel, came over to take our order and tell us a few things about the menu. Our son was actually waiting for an old friend of his before leaving, so Samuel was chatting with him for a minute, telling all of us about being from Scotland (as we've been there). He was very engaging and welcoming. We started with the Belhaven beer cheese appetizer. It comes with 3 long pretzel sticks and some assorted veggies. My one suggestion would be to split that, or make it a mix & match thing. We would have rather had 2 or 3 more pretzels and not the veggies. My husband had ordered his usual beer, but Samuel asked if he could make a suggestion based on that order. So he brought him a sample of a different one, which my husband really enjoyed so he ordered that instead. We both ordered a cheeseburger (I had the Belhaven burger and my husband had the Young's BBQ burger. Both were really fresh and good. I would definitely recommend this place in the future and would come back again, especially for the beer cheese! And ask for Samuel, definitely a waiter who pays attention when needed and gives you good advice.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food, located at International Plaza in Tampa. They are not kidding when they say World Famous Fish & Chips! You can get two different portions being half and full. Me and the wife were able to share a full portion no problem and the daughter had a half portion. We also had the beer cheese with pretzels, spinach artichoke dip and the boneless wings with Makers Mark BBQ. Service was good and pricing was average. Facility was clean and comfortable. If you are in the area and have the time you can’t go wrong !
Came here for a work event. Should really have put 1 star. The AC was broken upstairs and was horrible the entire day. The only thing that makes this 3 stars was the great service from Adam and the tasty fish and chips.
Stopped in as I was passing the time after dropping a friend off at a Dr. appointment near by and this place did NOT disappoint! Best fish n chips I’ve had in 5 years. Some places home come close but this batter was amazing, fish was cooked to perfection and the French fries were crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside!Overall a great experience! My server was amazing and I will definitely be back to try more things!You have to come here and try the amazing food!
