Love the place, I have stopped in to get food probably 2 years ago and I returned just recently to try it out again, Letme say I was completely satisfied, the food was amazing and the service was even better, chris, Alex, and Nick were the 3 guys out front that I interacted with and they just made my day, super nice and welcoming people, the type to just put a smile on your face, which they did. Will definitely be coming back and I’ll make an effort to come to this specific location.
Ordered lunch for delivery through their website, and the food was incorrect. I then called due to missing additional items paid for, and the bowl having aa beans, not garbanzo beans, but a reddish brown bean, I was told they did not have those kind of beans, I asked for the manager and was told he was speaking with someone, I decided to hold. After 9 minutes of holding I drove there, spoke with the manager who then tells me, he had been available the entire time, the employee then states he answered the phone and the manager was busy. Continuing on, I explained the only reason I showed up was due to the food being delivered and the employee stating they do NOT have those beans. Well then the employee proceeds to say, that's a pinto bean, I said ok, but you stated you did not sell any beans of that kind. The employee then starts to argue stating he never said that, well you did, so after a couple of seconds the manager advising the employee to leave, well the employee did that with hesitance and still eyeing me down. The manager handled the situation and as I am leaving the kid is still staring me down. WAY TO GO HUNGRY GREEK! THIS IS THE LAST TIME I ORDER FROM YOUR ESTABLISHMENT OR THE OTHER ONE DOWNTOWN! DO BETTER WHEN HIRING PEOPLE
This place should NOT be called the Hungry Greek. I ordered the souvlaki meal and was less than impressed. Actually, the food went to the trash. First, the chicken had absolutely no flavor, not even salt and pepper. Souvlaki is cooked on wooden skewers, this was not. Instead, they wanted to cut the meat up into chunks after it was cooked and then put it on a skewer. The rice was more of an Asian style rice which definitely comes in frozen to the restaurant. It's not your rice pilaf that you think of when eating Greek. I have never once had diced frozen vegetables in my Greek rice. The salad, one would think they can't screw that up...think again. They mixed potato salad in with the regular green Lettuce salad? Who does that? NEVER AGAIN will we patronize this place. I should have gone with my first instinct upon walking in and seeing how messy the salad area was. If you want Greek, this isn't the place.(Dale Mabry Highway location)
They advertise...is you give a review, "They have something for you." I got something for you, too.I ordered online through their store website. My order was supposed to be ready at 6:19 p.m.I arrive at 6:30 and they tell me they have no record of my order. I pull up my email for confirmation and show it to them. And dumbfounded, they say the register did not print my order. The worker making my salad stopped many times to engage with co-worker, no urgency was dispayed. Once given order...no apology for inconvenience. These workets have NO WORK ETHIC!
Love you guys but this is my second time ordering delivery and I am disappointed. First time we ordered Greek fries and they were old, I didn’t place the complaint because I thought it was just a bad day, so I let it go. Today I ordered Greek fries again and they were awful again, I also requested a salad with chicken and of course, there was no chicken. I called and placed a complaint with a guy and his customer service skills sucked, he didn’t apologize for the mistake, didn’t offer a refund or a replacement, he was careless. He just said that next time I order again he would add the chicken, he did not ask for a full name or number lol, and even worst he just hung up. I highly doubt I will order again.
I've been a loyal custom of the Hungry Greek since the location in Wesley Chapel across from the hospital opened, approx 12 years ago. I always received excellent food and service. I even used the Race Track road location near Westchase... again, excellent food and service. Two days ago I dined at the Dale Mabry Hwy & Linebaugh location and the service and food was horrible. The store appears to be run by kids. The cashier initially got my order wrong. They burnt the hell out of the fries on all four of our meals and actually served it to us. The gyro lamb meat was sliced paper thin and pieces were charred and dry... come on people, the thick juicy features are the key to the taste and texture of the gyro meat. I'm not sure if the old dude in the front corner of the lobby was the owner or manager; however, if he would have taken the noise cancelling headset off, he would have heard our conversation griping and complaining about the lack of quality and service. They should also give Checkers their fries back and use the regular fries like the rest of the Hungry Greek locations. There is a reason that Checkers never wins the fry wars... most people don't like them.
Love the Hungry Greek. I was planning a special birthday dinner for my wife.I was checking to see if my Greek salad could possibly be as good as theirs. I made it to their specifications and she loved it. Efcharisto.
Great taste, clean restaurant, service outstanding, large portions. Parking is not a problem.
Not the same food that I used to enjoy 3 years ago when I worked across the street. I don't know if they're under new ownership or what the issue is. The meat on my gyro was hard and they were very stingy with the portion. Also the pita was hard and I had to break off the outer edge. Additionally, the lemon chicken soup I used to enjoy was actually gross. So disappointed.. $30 wasted.
Huge Greek Salad the proper way, with potato salad at the bottom! It was soooo filling and delicious! Gotta try the Spinach pie too!
