If i could give a negative score, I definitely would! This is a RACIST establishment. When we left we were told not to come back. I guess b/c of our $8 tip off a $77 ticket. Tipsare earned not owed. We had to wipe our own table. & wait for them to finish taking shots for us to receive service. & When I questioned her about her comment she said you probably need it more than I do. It's 2022 & Im not begging to spend my money no where it ain't wanted or appreciated If u are black or anyone of color ur money is not welcome at The anchor bar.
This place was a great find! The bar tender was friendly & made great suggestions from the menu. The shrimp tacos are the best I've had, the BBQ wings were tasty as well & the barkers kept my ginger ale full. This barkeep works hard & deserves your business!
The food was great, the service was a little slow but it was during a high traffic time however so it was expected. The atmosphere was of the 'down home' type.Loved the opportunity to eat there and will visit again soon.
The bartender was awesome!!However, it was INCREDIBLY busy (with a St. Patrick's day fest and March Madness Tournament excitement nearby). I felt bad for her bc it was so busy, she needed to be 5 people to take care of what was around.
Great dive bar! Drinks are well worth every penny and you can tell it's popular because we had to wait for a seat!
I love a good dive bar, and the Anchor definitely fits the bill. Right downtown, but a little piece of ungentrified fun amongst the bank buildings and hotels. The wings are excellent and crispy, nice beer selection, friendly staff and characterful locals.
As someone originally from Buffalo we had to wander in to see if it's tied to the original anchor bar where the wings got their start. It isn't but the owner is from Buffalo. So, like always I had to try their wings. I always order extra crispy and lots of medium sauce with blu cheese. 95% of places down here don't get the crispy concept but this place does. I will be back.
Small bar found downtown. Not alot open in the surrounding area. Bartender was friendly and drinks were served cold. Only true complaint is the smaller venue means there's not alot of room for a party bigger than 4.
I travel and try wings everywhere I visit. I tried this place since it was close to our hotel. I got the medium wings, at first the flavor was nothing special. The more I ate the sauce started to grow in me, it was sweet but warm. The bar was small and crowded and it smelled small and crowded. The service was ok, seemed like only one person was working for a full bar.
This place was pretty good. Decent prices and friendly staff. Good for a beer and some food before a Bolts game.
