I was at Water Works Park which is a part of the Starz Center. Listened to good music, overlooking the river, nice breeze, plenty of seating and watch people passed by. All was awesome and a perfect Friday. Oh it was a free concert!!!

We had a wonderful experience watching Little Shop of Horrors. The theater was small but all the seats had perfect views of the stage. The actors very fantastic, BRAVO!!

This was our first time to the starz theater. The personnel was very friendly and helpuful. The play was great. We got tickets where the tables are at and it we regretted it. It was so crowded. If there was an emergency that area is a hazard. Too many people confined in a small area. We had 2 young ladies sitting in our table and they had to turn there sit around in order to see the play. They barely had space to stretch their legs in front so they kept pushing on the table. We did moved the table a little back but their was a stoop behind us that wouldn't allow us to move any further. One of the young ladies kept pushing back to stretch her legs and we were afraid that she would spill our drinks on us. Also if we try to use the bathroom there was literally no way to get out. I think if we ever go back we would definitely not purchase tickets where the tables are at.That area is uncomfortably crowded and also makes it hard for shorter people to enjoy the play.

Sharing my experience so it does not happen to others. The Straz website states: Seniors 65 years and older qualify for special-priced tickets to select shows. Two tickets per ID. Discounts are not applicable to prior sales and cannot be combined with any other offer. Subject to availability. Offer can be discontinued at any time. Handling fees apply. Discounts are redeemable in person only. Discounts cannot be redeemed online or over the phone. It did NOT mention that the discount tickets can only be purchased on the DATE OF THE SHOW 1 1/2 hours prior. We drove 70 miles round trip to purchase discounted tickets and this is what we were told. If we would have known this, we would have saved 1/2 day travel, gas and time. We were told to come back on date of the show to purchase. Since we had already made the trip we decided to go ahead and purchase full priced tickets, asked if any discount could be provided and was advised no. Since we waited to make the trip when convenient, the same tickets I could have purchased online were no longer available.Bottom line: no discount, tickets not as good as what could have been purchased online when I originally looked, aggravation, now tickets costs much more due to gas that was wasted on in person trip.

Any evening at the Straz will truly be magical. There isn’t a bad seat, everyone is excited and happy, the energy is so good, and it’s truly almost impossible to be unhappy here. The Straz offers something for anyone and everyone. The staff is really great at what they do…I mean everyone! The performers, composers, and musicians are amazing each time. The Straz is a must.

Broadway play of Frozen we saw tonight and I have to say it was awesome. The scenery, the cast and their voices were fantastic. This is a play all just see. There was a mix crowd, many adults alone, some kids, and many young adults.

Great place, the valet parking is too small and it takes long to get the keys back, but I definitely will come back

The Straz is THE premier theater in Tampa Bay with the Jaeb, Morsani and Ferguson Theaters being the ones we frequent the most since it opened in 1987. In fact, we bought the Broadway series that year just so we could see CATS. We have loved most of the shows that we have seen in these theaters, especially the Broadway shows. Even in the nose bleed section (all the way at the top) for TOMMY, we enjoyed the show.At Tuesday’s 7:30 DEAR EVAN HANSEN show, on 2/1/22, approaching the entrance to the theater, I was asked for a negative CoVid test or my vaccination card (this is what I had). I also walked through a metal detector and screening (my pulse was looked into). In my seat, I sat next to a chatty gentleman on my left and 10 empty seats to my right. He was attentive during the show, but after intermission I chose to sit in one of the empty seats next to me. I could see better. This show was fantastic! Of the 8 parts, four were played by understudies, and all 8 players were phenomenal. The educational programs are first rate, and heavily attended. The Center also has an app for enhanced listening in Morsani Hall for the hearing impaired. Upon request, the visually impaired can request audio description and use the same app in the Morsani. I believe this feature is only available n this hall for the Broadway Series, for the Saturday 2PM show. It would be nice to know if it is offered for other shows or in the other theaters. All of the staff, especially the theater ushers, are amazing. They are friendly, accommodating, and pleasant. Water is permitted in Morsani Hall ($3 for a bottle of Dasani), but no other food or beverages are permitted at this time (2/1/22). I believe the Jaeb has more relaxed rules in place since they have tables and chairs, and for past shows they have sold alcohol and soft drinks. We watched SPAMILTON in this theater twice! It was so good. The parking is the worst part of attending shows at the Straz. THAT is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. In the past 35 years, condos, apartment buildings, and hotels have replaced ground parking which was convenient and fairly priced. The Poe Garage used to have a walking bridge to the Straz that gave walkers covering if it rained. Now, you must bring an umbrella or wear a raincoat. Valet parking and self-parking on site is also diminished. With all of the road work in the area, driving to and from can also be hazardous.

Really enjoy eating outside and enjoying the view and yummy food options before each performance.
