My friends tease me because I am Cuban and have never been to Pollo Tropical. This afternoon my friends and I traveled to Adventure Island. On the way home we stopped into PT.. The food was great. I had the TropiChop. Good stuff . The best though was Julie. Julie really knows her menu and helped me decide what to order. The restaurant was busy and she handled the line like a pro. Too bad there's not more just like her around! Thanks Julie!

Do not recommend at all. My order was for a regular platter of 1/4 dark which came with black beans and rice, or one side. Around $ 6 and change. I just wanted chicken and plantains. I knew the plantains were usually an up charge to the regular side. Well when I get up there to pay it was like $14 and I was told I got black beans and rice and a full order of plantains-around $5. And drink-another $3 give or take. I wanted to substitute the black beans and rice with mashed potatoes and gravy. When I got home I had mashed potatoes-no gravy, whole kernel corn and a full order of plantains, no black beans, and the most pitiful excuse for a chicken thigh I’ve ever seen. There was a leg,but the thigh was mostly gristle and chopped bone of what should have been the thigh with mostly backbone and the “preacher nose”. There was about two edible bites of meat. Not worth the hassle, nor the price

This was my first time eating food from this restaurant. The inside of the restaurant appeared to be old. Though the tables were clear, not all were clean. There were hardly no customers seated inside and there was at least 6 people working. The cashier appeared to be new as she was slow to responding. One of the people who was handling the food stopped what she was doing to get us our drinks and anything else we asked for. The food was not bad. It just didn't give me that "wow, this is really good" feeling. A serving of black beans in a cup came with my husband's meal, it was literally a side of black bean juice...about 5 beans in the cup....literally. Other than that, it wasn't a bad experience. I would return..maybe yesterday was an off day. I did love seeing fresh (not frozen) chicken being prepared on an open grill.

After spending the day at Busch Gardens on Mothers Day, we stopped at Pollo Tropical at 5101 East Temple Terrace around 7 PM. Although they were busy, especially at the drive through, a very tall gentleman noticed us immediately and dropped what he was doing to take our order. We weren’t sure what we wanted but he gave us a couple of suggestions. Another gentleman behind the counter gave us a couple of sample dishes to take home - with a big friendly smile. Our food was tasty and hot. We were very grateful for the top notch food, friendly environment and great service! Thank you for a great experience. Wish we had saved the receipt so I could be more specific. We spent about $26 or $27 and got two 1/4 chicken meals with lemonade. Thanks again!

I must say, I usually eat at pollo tropical and their amazing. This specific location was not the same. The customer service was below average and the food was not even fresh. We waited 15 minutes and still got food that was not fresh! Hopefully next time it is better!

I like the food. But I HATE ordering from here. We usually order on Saturday nights via the app. And I always get my food late. It's not uncommon for me to wait for 20-30 minutes past my pick up time. Once I waited for an hour to get my food. Tonight, it looked like no one was attending the line. All the effort was focused on the drive through. In no time the line was wrapping around to the second entrance. I don't know who the manager is, but I recommend that you do a surprise visit after 7:30 on Saturdays to see what your staff is doing.

I'm a traveling merchandiser I've been to Pollo Tropical in many cities and states. But store 10217 in Tampa Florida was the cleanest opened space and organized store I've seen in years. I'm with it being high pace with steady business the customer service was awesome. Thanks I appreciate good service whenever I can get it. It's really rare these days. Kudos to Kacey the front cashier with her smile and warm spirit.

It's not the first time this has happened to me, I don't even know what they're doing but you can't order online, they send you whatever they want, you ask for a large order and they send you a small one, you ask for rice and they send you mac and cheese. horrible service and the employee who made my order claims to be #41

In my opinion this place received 5 star because the food was really good. The customer service was extremely excellent. The food was served quickly. The restrooms was in the good condition and clean. Me and my wife we stop by to get dinner and we were satisfied with the service ??100 % recommend

Absolute horrid customer service. I asked for a avocado cilantro tropichop but when I got home I saw there was no avocado. I also asked for extra cilantro sauce and not only did I not get extra sauce I in fact got no sauce at all. They forgot to give me my drink when I pulled up to the window so after they handed me my food I had to stare into the window for 5 minutes before they even asked me why I was just sitting there. I paid for a large so naturally they gave me a regular size instead. I could barely hear whoever was taking the order at the menu because they were talking so lazily I had no idea what they were saying. I'm not even asking for them to put 100% effort at there job but at least give me 50% effort in basic speech. I said "thank you " multiple times but barely went acknowledge. I was just in their way. I gave 2 stars because at least the food was decent.
