I went to this Pollo Tropical in May 2022. It's Florida and everyone is over masks, so Covid protocols were non-existent except that they removed the drink fountain and sauce station. There is a drive thru but we chose to dine in.The food is reasonable priced and delicious. Their grilled chicken is so good! They used to have an island where you could choose your own sauce, which was part of what made this place so great. They have really good sauces. Now you have to ask for some behind the counter - that takes forever and they only give you one or two. They were out of the red sauce and that's the best one.We had an overall acceptable experience until it was time to leave.I used the restroom and realized the soap dispenser was broken. I then went to the opposite gender restroom (no one was in there, I knocked) and that soap dispenser was broken. I know I saw at least 2 employees use that bathroom while there. They probably have a sink they can use in the kitchen area but YUCK! There's a reason there are signs stating employees must wash hands before leaving the restroom. Besides, guests need soap too. Stomach turning.
I went here on Sunday. I got an order for my family, but forgot my own. Sucks, but no big deal. I've been waiting 30 minutes for a singular plate. The times I have come here before, the service was good. Not this time. If I come back next time, I hope they hire more people. (I waited 20 minutes originally for my family's order)
This is the best Pollo tropical in the Tri-County area. The staff that runs it are on top of everything, the food is on point and the service is really good. Every time I come up this way I make sure I go to this Pollo tropical for what I've come to expect from these restaurants. It's a shame that a larger conglomerate has bought the name and put out a number of restaurants that are not to this level of quality. If you get a chance come to this restaurant and enjoy really good food.
Went inside for To-Go and it took over 20 minutes to get my order. Staff was nice. Strange though I heard them tell several customers that they were out of water. I assume bottle water, but restaurants shouldn't run out of water. Food was great as always just took a long time to get it.
They need to have better planning, we’ve been several times and been really let down- I am sad to report and it’s due to lack of management or something. I also officially have to send in my Hispanic partner because they aren’t friendly towards me anymore. They HAVE NO SAUCE the past 5 times we’ve gone. How is that possible? This weekend I went early to avoid the dinner rush. I ended up stopping at the Publix around the corner to buy ingredients to attempt to make the sauce and randomly other woman were getting the same things! In line at checkout we ( me and the other couple of women) discussed how we love the food but one of the things that makes it good is the sauces. I really hope they get it together and start improving again. We once really loved this place. Also, the price to feed a family of 4 is over $75 here now. So make sure you’ve got that in mind.
Tried out Pollo Tropical for the first time on a trip to Tampa. The food was great! I got the Cuban sandwich and also had the 1/2 grilled chicken.Both were excellent! Pricing was decent too. The service was a little slow but the good food made it worth it. I will likely go again.
Better than fried chicken, still very tasty with nice flavor. The chicken is seasoned very well. Plenty of sides to choose from. The limited time platters and items change up the menu and gives you something different to try. Also some non-meat items available for vegetarians too.
I was very disappointed after seeing such great commercials about this restaurant. The chicken, rice and beans were very dry and tough in texture. None of the food was fresh. The service was good but I probably wouldn't not consider a return visit.
The food is delicious and if customer service is good I recommend it 100% in addition the prices of your food are affordable to buy
Excellent food. Really enjoyed my mango bbq chicken bowl. And my frozen drink. Add the pineapple rum sauce over the bowl, it's delicious!!
