The menu is very limited, our waitress might be stressed that day cuz we were nice to her but she was giving us an attitude when ever we asked for something
Most important comment is that OysterCatchers is not closed for renovation for at least 6-7 weeks. They did not have a firm reopening date. Many remember OysterCatchers as the go-to brunch spot in Tampa for years. They discontinued the buffet brunch with COVID replacing it with ala cart from a very limited menu. They have tweaked things in the last couple of months - each entree now comes with 2 Bloody Marys or 2 Mimosas. They also had complimentary danish platter before the meal and a complimentary dessert platter after. Food was good. Service was spotty considering how few people were in the place. I could tell that some staff were preparing for the renovation by moving things around. Overall noisy, but that was in part due to a very noisy table right next to us. They implied that the buffet may be coming back, but not on the scale it was pre-COVID. We'll see what is announced once they re-open.
My first visit, but my wife's second to Oystercatchers was good. For a $$$ restaurant and one to have the name "Oyster" in their name was a bit of s disappointment when it came to the size of the oysters--very small. In fact the smallest I have ever encountered ($18 for 5). However, the Pork Shank was AMAZING. My wife had the Grouper which she had to return due to dryness. I think the best part of the night was definitely our servers Mike and Brian and the cocktails. They made us feel like royalty. From the water to the Red Sangria, over to the smoked Old Fashion, our drinks were refreshing and gone in no time. LOL. I would definitely return once the renovation is complete, late Aug 22.
I came here to celebrate a birthday and the experience did not disappoint. Everything I ate was so good! The seafood was high quality and tasty. The wait staff was also great. The restaurant has one of the best views of the sunset. I will definitely be back after the renovations.
Did not know it was last night before closing for 6 weeks to renovate. So limited items and wine but would have expected if I knew in advance. Certainly not the normal attention to detail that the restaurant is well known for. Server tried has hard to correct and compensate but he was not the chef. All said look forward to the renovation and visiting soon as a local resident and not just the hotel guest that may be a one stop shopper.
From my 9 year old daughter who loves seafood : The restaurant was amazing they have great service. I really recommend the lobster mac & cheese for adults and popcorn shrimp for kids their food taste really fresh so I really recommend everyone try this restaurant
We had a lovely time dining at oystercatchers! It was a rainy day but the views were still amazing and the food was to die for
Very nice Restuarant - food was excellent, drinks were nice. I just found the dinner menu a little limited. But overall it was a very nice evening out.
Appetizers (tuna poke and crab cakes) were delicious. Entrees (sea scallops and grilled seafood trio) seemed to be under seasoned. The grill seafood trio could have used more sauce and fewer potatoes.
Everything was excellent. I asked for a table with a view and our table for two was perfect, although close to other tables, it was still romantic and the view was amazing. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Definitely 5 star dining.
