Yummm! My friend brought me here for dinner, she herself is Venezuelan and I have to say this place did not disappoint. The food was well prepared and bursting with flavor. Every bite was filled with flavor. Cool modern decor and big bar along with ample table sitting.
We went to Nico's Arepas Grill in Tampa for Mother's Day, and we had a terrible experience. It took a while for our original server to greet us and to take our order. I believe about 15 minutes went by after we were sat before anyone came by. And it took about 40-45 minutes for the food to come out. We ordered some sodas which are served in cans, and the extra cup with ice that I requested looked like a cup that had been drank out of previously. The ice was partially melted, had a color to it, and was splashed around the inside edges of the cup. I put the cup away in fear to drink from it and decided to drink from the can instead even though it was probably dirty. Even my husband and kids said that it looked like I was given a cup that someone else had recently drank from. The original server left and did not say anything to us, and a different server brought out our food. Our kids ordered a meal with fries, and the fries brought out were visibly dark, burned and hard for both of the meals. They were completely inedible. I had ordered a lasagna, and it looked like a lasagna that had been made days ago that was microwaved. The portion was very small and it did not come with bread or salad. The lasagna looked so terrible (like old warmed up food, not the pleasing to the eye lasagna with melted stretchy cheese that we usually get at other restaurants) that I couldn't even try to take one bite, so the server took it away. We also had a pabellon dish, and that meal also seemed to have been made a few days prior and microwaved like the lasagna. The shredded beef was lacking flavor and a little chewy, and some of the rice pieces were crunchy. My husband had a burger. His bun was over toasted and they put tomatoes in it even though he had requested his burger without tomatoes. Thus, I do want to say that the 2nd server that took over was sweet and kind. She felt bad and agreed that the food looked awful. This review is based solely on the poor quality of the food and the service received by the original server. It's hard to believe that all our meals were messed up. Needless to say, we will never be back again. And sadly, I had the worst mother's day meal and experience of my life :(
Arepas as good as I remember them when I was living in Tampa and we would get them from the food truck. Nice service and convenient location.
Food was amazing and the service was fantastic! The arepa was absolutely mind blowing. This place is a great little hidden spot with friendly staff and a great menu!
Second time we eat here and it never disappoints. Food is so good. Not bad for the price.
The location is sus, but all the best restaurants are! Once inside, it’s clean, it’s got a good vibe, the staff are friendly!Everything was DELICIOUS! Ordered the sampler, and the burger! Amazing! Do yourself a favor and order the sampler!
I LOVE the food here. I loved it so much that I even asked what the chef's name was to make sure he was there when I go eat here with my fiance. His name is Martin. Ive been other times but the food wasnt AS good as it was today. The food was phenomenal!!
VERY VERY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER ? I WISH I could give this place NO STARS ? my husband and I came here to try something new and we was seated as soon as we walked in but was sitting at our table for 45 minutes for MANY workers to pass us without asking us if we wanted anything to eat or drink… NOT EVEN water. My husband was so upset we decided to just leave but before we left I stopped to speak with the manager who obviously showed no true interest in what I was saying and NEVER tried to correct it which shows that it’s a NORMAL routine to be nasty and rude to PAYING customers. SMH it’s sad because it’s a nice looking spot and I’ll NEVER try the food because of the HORRIBLE customer service experience. Being a business owner myself I take CUSTOMER SERVICE SERIOUSLY and my customers have ALWAYS been my top priority. I’m SERIOUSLY disappointed.
Delicious Venezuelan food ? natural juices, tequeños, arepas, cachapas, soups, burgers, parrilas, desserts they also sell Venezuelan snacks like cocosette, maria cookies, nucita, Pepito, flips, pirulin, chicha ?
Came here with my girlfriend for a dinner date and it was amazing! We had an arepa sampler that came with a wide variety of foods off the menu. It was very filling between the two of us and at a great price! We also ordered a pabellón arepa which really sealed the entirety of our meal. Check this place out if you haven’t and make sure Don Adolfo takes care of you! He’s got the best stories hands down and will take really good care of you :)
