Lord, I'm only writing this to save someone $50.00 especially since gas is $5.00 a gallon! This foods was just bad! The black eyes peas were hard and under cooked. The Mac and cheese was very bland, The yams taste like they came straight out the can and the turkey wings and curry chicken...jeez???it tasted tangy, like a vingear sour taste. Trust me, believe the reviews! Just cook at home!
I ordered breakfast directly from their website at 825am for delivery to my office (which is 2 miles away) and apparently there was a problem with their doordash interface so my order was not delivered until 1145am. I had called and spoken to the restaurant at 9am and again at 945 and wondering where my food was. When what was supposed to be breakfast for two arrived we actually got one dinner of rice, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and pot roast. The rice and roast was actually quite tasty but the the rest was not. All in all, if we decide to give the breakfast we ordered a try we will pick it up ourselves
First time trying it despite the reviews going in with an unbiased opinion didn’t read the reviews until after I’ve tried it at that ribs tasted dried out the sauce is trying to save it but you can tell the ribs were at least a week old the chicken smelt like it was spoiled and sat out of the refrigerator and they still try to fry it and sell it yellow rice soured mac & cheese taste straight out of the box just baked right after with some dollar store cheese on top the greens no words literally the fried chicken was just terrible looking and smellingI would not even offer this to the homeless that would be disrespectful to them waste of 96 wasted callin health department
Sometimes their food is OK. Theres good days and theres bad days. Mostly theres bad days. Usually I’m too lazy to write reviews but today I just had to. The chicken was not thoroughly cooked and the mac n cheese was soggy like soup. It was like they rush everything they make and they overall dont care. If you want real soul food, this isn’t the place. The food was not at all good :/
I have ordered from here a few times. I had no problem other than it's kind of pricey.This time I ordered from there 11.27.2021 the macaroni and cheese tasted like spoiled/sour milk. I was very disappointed.
I wished I read reviews first before did Uber eats order. My food that I got was horrible!!! I ordered 3 pcs chicken dinner with mac n cheese, yellow rice and collard greens. Also ordered extra side of mac n cheese and peach cobbler. Chicken were soggy and too salty, yellow rice was bland, mac n cheese tasted sour like it's already bad. The peach cobbler OMG it was the worst!! I took one bite and spit it out right away. The crust was uncooked, it smelled and tasted foul. I instantly threw them away. The only thing that was ok was the collard greens.
I decided to give this place a try despite all the bad reviews. And plus I have an aunt name Lillie Mae. I've never been much of a follower so I said let me check it out and I'm glad I did. I ordered through door dash this morning around 9:30. ( Lisa G) The husband had fried fish and I had chops with grits and eggs. I rarely compare my mother's cooking to anyone else's (rip) but whoever was in the hotbox ( kitchen) this morning did their thang. And thanks for putting cheese in my grits..lol. God bless.
This place is in a sketchy area, it’s inside the Texaco. Food wasn’t too bad but it’s not fresh. I had curry chicken, rice, greens, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread.Chicken was ok could’ve been seasoned more. The must keep adding water to the chicken because it was soupy no veggies in the dish but was fall off the bone but it’s been sitting a while.Rice was disgusting it taste like dirty tap water no seasoning no butter nothingGreens was decent the top layer was good it taste like old thanksgiving greens defrosted then they added a can of glory greens so it didn’t blend wellMac n cheese was descent if it was fresh it would have been good but again old definitely been sitting a while like days.Cornbread taste like jiffyI wanted some soul food nothing else was open until 6pm wouldn’t recommend but if u hungry with a strong stomach u should be ok.
Did not honor their in app specials. I ordered an additional item that was buy one get one but was only given one. So they made a sale for an item I wouldn't have bought but did not honor by providing.
I definitely should have read the reviews before I spent $50 on dinner from here. The Mac N Cheese horrible, the ribs are dry, and the yams are bland and come to me cold. The only thing that was good was the sweet potato pie. Don’t waste your money here. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
