Stopped here on a business trip one morning and bought a cafe con leche, loaf of Cuban bread to take home, and a pastry. Friendly staff, quick service and delicious everything. Thank you!
The cuban bread was delicious! It was perfectly crusty, chewy, soft and soft at the same time. The breakfast sandwich was fine, with eggs and jalapeno you cannot go wrong. But some kind of sauce would have been nice. The sandwich felt a little dry. The cafe con leche was good. The star of the show as mentioned by a lot of other reviewers as well was the Guava Pastry. We got the one without cheese and it was perfection. It was not overly sweet, flaky crust and melted in our mouth. The service was nice even though they were busy. My only complaint is that there is no seating inside or outside. I wish they would create a space where we can sit and enjoy the goodies.
I read about this local bakery as I was doing my research for Tampa. We were staying in Downtown Tampa and took the trolley to Ybor City. We found our way to La Segundo Bakery to try the Cuban sandwiches for ourselves. They are a must! Best I have ever had. Keep in mind they are very large and can feed two. The only downside to this local bakery was they did not have restrooms and nowhere to eat your sandwiches.
Took the streetcar from downtown and got off at exit 3 and it was about a .5 mile walk to the restaurant. My wife introduced me to great Latino bakeries in Hoboken but this was so much better. The Cuban was excellent and packed with meat. My DD got the quesito and was equally impressed. Worth the walk.
La Segunda Central Bakery has been a staple for surrounding restaurants, providing them with fresh baked Cuban bread, for years. The general public are always welcome, to purchase fresh pastries, bread, sandwiches, and much more. Parking is limited, but not impossible. Cash or credit, with friendly service. Hope this is helpful, for your first visit.
One of my favorite bakeries in Ybor City. From Cuban Sandwich to Cuban pastries everything were delicious l!
Great place and very friendly service.
Best Cuban EVER! Nuttie buddie pastry and espresso were also great!
The breakfast sandwich with chorizo meat was tasty, but guava flip was a big disappointment, coffee was good, all in all it was tasty. I ordered the guava flip with cheese and got the plain one , but disappointment there.
If you are anywhere neat Ybor this is a must stop. We loved it so much we went back the next day. The empenadas were killer and they make the breakfast sandwiches fresh to order but I hope your hungry because they are massive.
