It has been said - if you want to understand and learn about a culture, you should eat their food. I like Jamaican jerk chicken, I like rice and peas, also known as rice with beans. The flavor of the Caribbean, found with the bahamians as well as the Haitians. Those flavors are to be found here. The people who waited on me were very friendly and inviting. I went here for lunch with a friend he had the oxtail he remarked that it was very good. I had the jerk chicken with the barbecue sauce on it. Understand they put barbecue sauce all over the plate not just on the chicken. So if you ask for barbecue you better love barbecue sauce because they put lots on it. You should try this place you may find it to your liking.
We haven’t had much Jamaican food before trying this spot but really enjoyed the curry goat, jerk barbecue chicken, and rum cake. Both entrees were very delicious. The fries were a bit soggy but that can be overlooked given the flavor profile of everything else. There was a variety of selections for drinks with the Jamaican Kola Champagne as my favorite. Small interior, but well lit and appears that locals prefer to order take out instead of dining in. Would definitely come back again to try other menu items next time.
Brooooooooooooooooo!! Absolutely authentic! I travel to Jamaica several times eight in Jamaican food in California Florida Chicago and Detroit. Jerk pit has a unique flavor, Cabbage is refreshing and light yet still packs big favor. Curry goat was absolutely perfect tender suck the meat right off the bones. Plantains for nice touch. Washed it down with a pineapple Jamaican soda. Highly recommend jerk pit for Jamaican food lovers. Marvin was pleasant and patient.
This was my 1st time eating from Jerk Pit. I ordered the Brown Stewed chicken & Curry chicken dinner. Let me tell you..... DELICIOUS! The chicken was full of flavor and falling off the bone y’all. The rice & beans were perfect and the cabbage was full of flavor. This is the best Jamaican food restaurant that “I’ve” ever encountered. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Jerk Pit is exactly what we needed! Thank you
This is hands down the best Jamaican food in the Tampa Bay Area! My husband had the Red Snapper and I had the Curry goat!!! Both dishes were so full of good flavor… all we could say was ummm…. Ummm the entire time we ate!!! This is now our go to place for Jamaican food!!!! I look forward to trying other dishes

Traveling from out of town and was recommended to try this place out by a local. Hands down has the best authentic flavor on the Jerk Chicken and Pork. Highly recommend you try the fresh juices of the day as well. Service was quick so definitely Will be back, Thank you!
One of my favorite Jamaican restaurants in Tampa Bay. Great vegetarian options. I absolutely love the steam vegetables! So much flavor and love put into the meals. Be sure to try to the homemade juices. I’m a big fan of the Sorell and Carrot. Very welcoming vibes and the best music choice!
