I went to Gonzo's on a work trip, at the outbreak of the Pandemic.I am an amateur chef. I do not work in food, but I love to cook at home. One of my favorite movies is Chef, and when I learned I would be working in Tampa, the birthplace of the Cuban Sandwich, I knew I had to have my first bite of a Cuban Sandwich in Tampa Florida.Gonzo's made that first bite, utterly divine. I will never forget how good this sandwich was. I could taste the limes and citrus in the pulled smoked pork, despite the pickles and mustard (which I usually consider overpowering in anything). It was tender, it was buttery, it was cut lengthwise, which made it easy to get good bites without food coming out the side, and it was still perfectly crunchy.If I have a reason to travel back to Florida, for any reason, you can bet I am going to make an excuse to travel out of the way to go back to Gonzo's.Thank you Gonzo's, for making what will always be a hallmark memory in my life exploring and seeking culinary excellence.11/10.

Just went in on a whim, this is a top notch sandwich shop. Immaculately clean, promt and courteous service and of course the food was delicious! I had the pork drizzle and it was amazing, I could taste the love. I ordered garbanzo bean soup but have not eaten it yet as the sandwich filled me up. I will definitely be coming back, gonna get the West Tampa next!
Loved this place! My fiance actually found this place by accident when he was doing some work training in the area and loved it so much, he brought me the very next day! Food quality is fantastic and the guys working there are super nice. Both the guy at the counter and the cook checked in on us. Next time we are in the area we are certainly making a stop
It was the best sandwich I have ever had and my siblings and mother enjoyed it a lot. I got a pork belly sandwich and loved it, the place is a must try.
To give you an idea, I found this place when I Googled: 10 best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa. It's a small shop with 4 tables and a small bar-like eating area outside. I ordered the Cuban which is 9" and rings up at $9.00. It comes pressed, with a generous portion of pork, salami, ham, Swiss cheese pickle with mustard and Mayo. They have a number of other sandwiches which I will definitely try.
Great and friendly service, tasty sandwiches. Sandwiches seemed healthier than other places we’ve tried. Our son got a huge burger with fries and loved every bite.
This is an absolute Tampa gem! I've tried almost every sandwich on the menu and can't bring myself to crown a favorite because ALL of them are seriously amazing! The quality of meat and bread are consistent with each bite and every visit. A father and son team who are very accommodating and welcoming. This is the quintessential family owned business.
This is a must for anyone who is visiting or local...the sandwiches here are amazing. The owners are the ones making the food and were so nice and friendly. I will definitely be back.
