This is a historic property built in 1929. Loving architecture, I was excited to stay here. Positives: the staff at the hotel all do their best to provide a positive experience.Negatives: the owner of the hotel is not keeping it maintained properly. We received a free upgrade to a suite (awesome!), but a few of the windows in the room were broken. The solution was to place stickers over the broken glass (as opposed to replacing the broken glass panes). There were obvious drywall repairs, but they neglected to paint over the drywall repairs. A few of the curtains weren’t hanging properly because the hooks were broken. The treadmill was non-functional.The other reviewers mentioned homeless people and poor parking situations. Those are accurate. Lot 1 is really tight - your car will get dinged. Lot 2 has more room, but people don’t pay attention to the lines. $8 per night if you pay the lot (via QR code) as opposed to $30/night if you pay the hotel. The homeless people around the hotel (at least 30+) generally left everyone alone.

The room and hotel decor was beautiful! It maintained much of the time period design , which was a plus. The free breakfast was filling, including eggs, ham, biscuits, waffles, bacon, cereal, fruit, and juices. The hotel is in a PERFECT location for accessing activities, venues& transportation. The staff was accommodating and kind and very professional. I would DEFINITELY reserve there again. Cleanliness +++++

Only stayed for one night. The parking is minimal. There were many homeless people begging outside the door. Check in was quick and easy. The room was very spacious and appeared to be clean. The ac doesn't cool the room well and being very close to the top floor was not very comfortable. There was no hotel information in the room and had to call the front desk numerous times before they picked up to ask where the ice machines were. Was told they have bags of ice in the lobby. No scoops to get ice, I was lucky the bag was brand new. The cable lost signal. The front desk said they were resetting it but it never came back on. Be sure to bring some snacks or drinks because there is no vending for those late night snack attacks. Hopefully the breakfast won't be disappointing.

I am really looking forward to staying here again in the near future! This hotel is absolutely beautiful & clean! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Great location. I am very impressed with the quality I received for the low cost that I paid. The only personal preference I have is that the bed was too firm for me & the bedding was too thin, but I would absolutely stay again because I really enjoy the environment & experience!

The Good: Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Lobby is well cared for, pretty, and comfortable. Room was clean. Restaurant was delicious and bartenders were friendly and engaged with customers while still being efficient. The Bad: Billed as historic, but really just sort of old and run down. Rooms were clean, but bed was VERY hard and TV didn't work properly. Most channels gave a "no signal" error. I called and someone immediately came and fixed it, but then in less than 30 minutes it started happening again. I didn't want to be a pain so I didn't call again. Continental breakfast just ok... standard fair, not super tasty.

This place probably was a palace at one point. Beautiful old historic building. Grand and spacious. Rooms are tastefully decorated and clean. But the blankets. Can we talk about the blankets?? Ripped fitted sheet and no comforter. When we called to request a better blanket, they said they didn’t have any. It was scratchy, light and cheap. If your goal is solid sleep, you’re better off at the Hampton Inn.

Absolutely Stunning. They definitely invest back into the hotel. They keep up with it so nicely. It takes you back in time and it's so so elegant. I felt like royalty. The view was awesome, and the room was so so clean. We absolutely loved the natural stone all over and the details are so interesting and thorough. The staff is so kind and helpful. Such sweet people. We loved the stay and is very much worth it. Also, breakfast was fantastic. We will be back for sure!

I was born and raised in Tampa and never knew this place existed until I found it on DayUse.com What a pleasant surprise! The staff is super friendly, I spoke with Nicole. She was very friendly and helpful. The structure itself is well maintained. Inside is breath taking! The establishment is super clean. The rooms are simple, yet very clean and well maintained. I will definitely return.

The building and architecture and Furniture are exquisite. However when I called to ask about upgrading to a larger Suite, the woman on the phone told me that there would be a charge for checking in early. I never asked about checking in early. When I arrived and saw the view from the 16th floor in our suite, it was basically a view of the expressway. Also it looked as if our sweet had not been cleaned properly in forever. There was so much dust on the smaller television that it literally came off onto my fingers. I asked about moving to a room on the other side of the hotel and I was told there were none available. When I tried to turn on the television I found out there were only over-the-air channels available. No cable no ESPN no CNN nothing. There were also no Channel guides in the rooms, so God only knows how long they've only been offering over-the-air channels. Despite the architecture and furniture, I would not rate this hotel any higher than two stars. The staff was , but not really helpful. There did not even appear to be a gift shop in the lobby where one could purchase aspirin. Years ago I decided Best Western is a hotel chain that is dying a slow death and I definitely don't recommend staying with them. The location was good, but the amenities were nothing like what I expected.

This hotel was the highlight of our stay in Tampa. From the moment we walked in the door Rhonda made us feel like family, it’s rare to receive such incredible friendly service like what we experienced at this hotel. The decor was breathtaking and incredibly clean, beds were extremely comfortable and the linen a much higher quality than most hotels on our trip. The bar and food were great, the hot breakfast was wonderful also. Donna behind the bar was so much fun and we ended up staying there for hours. A HUGE thank you to all the staff for everything……especially Rhonda who went completely out of her way to make sure we had such an enjoyable stay, thank you so much❤️❤️❤️
