This was one of my favorite places in Old San Juan. My friends and I had a fairly large party and waited for almost an hour. So worth it with all of their authentic food and great drinks. We had the appetizer sampler. We really liked the sweet corn fritter sorullos and the beef plantain turnovers alcapurias. For the entrees, we shared the breaded cubed steak, fried red snapper, beef in the creole sauce and lechon. Wow all of the meats here were on point. Any dishes served with their house creole or gravy like sauce is a must order. The snapper was definitely fresh, but beware of all of the bones. Definitely recommend ordering the passionfruit and pina colada juices as well. Prices here are reasonable and they have seating for all party sizes. The interior has colorful painted walls and the restaurant is run really well considering how packed it was. The amazing service and food definitely justify the amount of Yelp and Google reviews. If you want great vibes and delicious food this your spot.

My husband loved the beans. The best he’s had in a long time. I got the fish cakes that are flat like chips and mofongo. My mofongo came quite a bit after the rest of our meal. It was very tasty. Our server seemed indifferent/uninterested. Granted, we arrived about :30 before closing but we weren’t the last diners. If in OSJ again, I’d like to try this place again. It’s a homey restaurant that seems authentic which is different for a touristy area. We’d make sure to arrive earlier.

We chose this off the recommendations from Trip Advisor, and usually they’re right. Not this one at all. It was the worst meal I had on the island all week. I am an experienced traveler all over Latin America, Europe, and Asia, and am a long-time Spanish teacher. I don’t have high expectations for service, but the staff didn’t care whether we were there or not and the quality of food wasn’t good. I was disappointed with the service from the beginning and the food was not much better. They were somewhat busy, but there was no attempt to be cordial and the food alright at best. I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but this place doesn’t deserve the high marks it’s gotten. Go somewhere else.

be flexible with your schedule. the wait can be in excessive of 30 minutes - totally worth it. i ordered flan to go - got tres leche - ever the error was delicious!! so delicious that i went back the next evening to reorder the flan. the menu is authentic and its very affordable. highly recommend.

I went to this place a few years ago and LOVED IT!!so much so that I had to go back. What a disappointment. First the waitresses are so busy booty popping and dancing that they can't take an order. Second everyone is texting and can't be bothered. I had to flag down a waitress who rushed us through the whole ordering process. Its so sad that this place has gone down hill. Everyone i talk to thats going to Puerto Rico I tell them go to the jibatito NEVER AGAIN !!! This place is terrible. Don't waste your time.

Had dinner here after getting a recommendation from a local. It's nothing fancy, but it was good authentic PR cuisine.

Excellent customer services and the food is really good and the dessert tres leches Is One of the Best ive Tried its Feels Like Home

The rice and beans were outstanding and natural passion fruit was delicious

Delicious food , good service and authentic flavor.

Small quaint restaurant in the middle of Old San Juan. Obvious popular restaurant with waiting line. Put our name in for party of 6 at 7:00 PM and seared by 7:30 PM. Service, atmosphere, drinks and food were excellent. Ordered the grouper, tostones, mofongo, pork chops, rice and beans. All very good. Worth the wait.
