We both ordered & shared 24oz Porterhouse Steaks. The medium rare was dry & not as flavorful as we are used to. The server attributed it to the dry aging. Best of evening was French Onion Soup. Our friend felt his Lobster Bisque was warm not hot & just a small hint of Lobster. The Carpaccio appetizer was good, but small. The mashed potato & brussel sprouts sides were small. We prefer Charlie's & Ruth Chris for tastier porterhouse. Felt price was OK on steaks but not for skimpy sides.
I’m too full to discuss what happened. All I know is I’d do it again… assuming I recover from the food coma that’s setting in.Lobster bisque: Do. It.Bone-in ribeye ?Guava spritz with vodka ??Ice cream trio: dessert that doesn’t make you more full. Richest vanilla ice cream I have ever tasted. It’s an experience.Loved it.Only bar where it’s so top shelf, they have ladders.
This is one of the best steakhouse options in Tampa. Hidden inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, it has a great happy hour, regularly hosts live music, and has delicious cuts of steak and seafood. On multiple occasions, I have enjoyed a great meal here. It's also not quite as stuffy as some other steakhouses. Just a really time.
We always visit the Council Oak an outstanding steakhouse. We celebrated our Anniversary tonight starting off with a bottle of Oberon Merlot wine ?along with some calamari. My husband of 42 years ordered the New York sirloin steak and I had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection along with a baked potato with all the trimmings. This place never disappoints it is worth the trip and this restaurant is number one on our list. A big thank you to our waiter J.D. and our waitress Nicole who were just so wonderful all night serving us and making sure our dining went well. Thank u again and see you soon. Carol and Louie Aboto
The bill came to over $600.00 for a party of three people. We started out with the Raw Bar Sampler for four. It was excellent with lobster, crab claws, oyster, and shrimp. However, with such a beautiful presentation, why the restaurant chose to serve this with fake butter, I do not know. This butter (if that was butter) had no clarity but was thick and foamy. Seafood such as this was deserving of real butter. Next we got the tomahawk ribeye, which was cooked to perfection and delicious, with a side of mushrooms and creamed corn with bacon. The sides were also well prepared. The other two orders included the Australian lobster tails for $75.00 a piece. Do not waste your money. They had to be sent back because they were under done, and when they came back, they looked like 4 oz lobster tails instead of the 10 oz that was promised. Once again, they were accompanied by the fake butter. The service was outstanding. I wish the quality of the food were as good.
Great service, tender, juicy steaks, and nice atmosphere. Even though this restaurant is inside the casino, the atmosphere was really nice. The steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. Full of flavor and tender. I even had dessert this time, the Tuxedo Cheesecake and it was DELICIOUS! I definitely suggest giving them a try if you’re a steak lover. They are a little pricey but it’s worth it.
While the atmosphere was good abs our server was good, I’ve had many better dining experiences. My asparagus was not clean and was gritty. My wife’s steak was undercooked, sent back and came back undercooked. The manager did come over and take it off the bill but you think at a place known for steak that they could cook a steak. The steak was very natural no seasoning. They did have silver gray bernaisse sauce. Overall pretty disappointed. When I’m spending a few hundred dollars on dinner I have just come to expect better
Couldn’t have asked for better food, service or experience. Our party of 8 was celebrating a birthday and the service was outstanding. Everyone was attentive, welcoming and helpful. The food was amazing. Everyone agreed by far the best steaks in Central Florida. We will absolutely be back and definitely recommend as a go-to restaurant.
Unfortunately the quality of the dinning experience at Council Oak is going down hill. Maybe new Management? We have had dinner here many times in the past when the quality was worth price, not anymore. When got a fine dinning establishment you expect high quality flawless service, we didn't get it. Some of these would easily over looked at a lower class restaurant. Supposed to get basket of bread, had to ask twice to get it. Other tables were getting hot towels, not our table. My medium rare filet was raw had to send it back. Usually when food has to be sent back a manager will come by to apologize not here. Then there is the $21 for a Manhattan, really who decides that is appropriate. Will not be going back.
Amazing food and amazing service. Best steaks ever. Shrimp cocktail is perfect in texture and taste and the cocktail sauce is great too. Lobster bisque soup is to die for. Carrot cake is huge and sooo delicious ?
