Drove by this place and could smell it from the road... One of THE BEST BBQ joints I've been to in a long while. The mini sweet potato pie was the perfect finish to the meal and it all came in under $20 for a 2 meat meal, 2 sides, and the pie...will definitely be a regular here when I'm in the area for work!
Wow this place is so good. Theres’s a giant smoker out front with tons of meat. The place was non stop business (lots of locals). Momma, the owner was all business (cooking the meat). Brandy the girl who took our order (the owner’s daughter and founder’s granddaughter) was incredibly friendly and gave us the history of the place. It’s all family here. Brandy told us her grandfather Big John founded the place (B.J.’s). The chicken breasts had the smokey flavor in every bite. The BBQ sauce was really good (pretty sweet). They slather it on pretty thick so you might want to get it on the side. I thought it was just the right amount. We also had the sausage. It was also really good. Next time I’m going to try the pulled pork or the brisket. There are lots of choices. The prices are very reasonable. And if you like baked beans they were some of the best I’ve ever had. Clearly 5 stars.
Amazing food, fast and friendly service. My husband and i both ordered completely different meals and we both tried each other meal and everything was incredible. The two lovely ladies running it made you feel like you were eating at a friends home.
Unpretentious, hole in wall joint with mouth-watering smoked BBQ. You see their smoker smoking away as you drive along, and you think, "Maybe I should try this place?" Well, if you haven't, now is the time. This place is an institution. There's a no-nonsense approach to service, but you still feel welcomed by the charming ladies behind the counter. It's efficient. Food is great and affordable. It is enjoyed by many people from all walls of life. If you are coming here for ambiance or to people watch, then you are doing it wrong. This place is all about its food! The ribs, sausage and pork are amazing. Mac and cheese isn't the best for me, but so so. Their Arnold Palmer is spot on.
To say this was an absolutely incredible experience and meal would be an enormous understatement.My wife and I ventured out looking for food beat down after an exhausting day, and thankfully found this place.In front was the smoker which smelled amazing and as soon as we walked in were greeted by such nice and welcoming employees. Despite working their butts off extremely hard all day (we came in 20 minutes to close, and they were still super busy), they were infectiously nice and lifted our spirits immediately. Hands down the best spot in town!
We are here from Indiana. We stopped by to have some authentic BBQ in Florida. We enjoyed the friendly staff. We felt like we were just welcomed right on over to their kitchen, AND THE FOOD WAS SO SMOKEY AND DELICIOUS! You can really taste the time with the woodsmoked flavor! We had the pork, beef, green beans, and coleslaw. Ladies, you really have out done yourselves. THANK YOU!
OMG! Tampa you have been hiding this gem. BJ’s Alabama BBQ is by far the best BBQ I have had here in town! If you haven’t stopped in to try this place for yourself you are missing out!! I am stuffed and so very happy!

My wife brought me lunch from here, when she smelled the wonderful smokiness from the car driving by. She got me the sausage sandwich and I was in smoked heaven!! Nice sized portion with delicious bbq sauce and 2 sides! The beans were awesome with sweetness to them which made them unique. The sausage tasted smoked to the max, which made it oh so good!! Can't wait to try more food from here!
