I have had this 2 other times and they were very good! I usually order the family BBQ sampler and get 4 different meats and 2 sides. The collard greens are very good, the beans are sweet and soft with a smokey aftertaste. While today's brisket was a little dry, previous times they were on point. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and savory, the pulled pork and pulled chicken were very good, and the sausage is also very good. Make sure you smother everything with their BBQ sauces! Their bread pudding is not that good, I've had better, but then again, I'm not a big fan of bread pudding. Can't wait until they put banana pudding on their menu. I am going to blame it on me taking too long to pick it up for take out this time as the reason why the brisket and ribs were a little dry today. Dry, but still tender. They did soak up that BBQ sauce though! Get the fatty parts for the brisket, that stuff is spectacular! I'm going to round up to 4 stars. The best BBQ I've had was in Charlotte, NC so far, though they say nothing beats Texas BBQ... unfortunately, I have yet to try any Black's in Texas yet... why did I order take out? Because nobody wants to see me chow down on BBQ in public!! It's a messy affair!
This was my first and last time here.Meat was cold. Portions were very small for the price and the service was mediocre. I can think of a better place to spend $50The grease was dripping off the meat.I gave it one star because we were lucky and got fresh hot Mac and Cheese. I feel bad for the man in front of us who got the scraps left over from the previous pan.I gave it the second star because I had good company for a blah meal.
I hate leaving awful reviews but I can't stop thinking about how awful this was. Went with some family and all our food was cold. Ordered the street tacos, which looked amazing on the menu online, but were awful. Couldn't even get down one of the three tacos. Can't pin down the issue. Wait staff was great, and the okra seasoning was also pretty solid, but that was cold as well. Nobody liked their food.
I’ve had 4 Rivers before and this experience was not the same. My husband and I went to this location last night and there were many things that went wrong.1. After ordering, the food just stood in front of us with no one checking us out. My husband had to ask, are we waiting for anything else. When the kid mentioned no. My husband then said, can you ring us up. (We didn’t want the food to get cold; needless to say the food was actually cold so it did not make a difference).2. When I opened my salad, the lettuce was going bad so I asked to return it.3. My husband did not get butter with his role which I had to go back and request it.4. When I opened my cornbread (it was burnt); I did not go back to the counter because I had been back already several times.5. I had a coke which was not a twist off; if they saw that when checking out. I believe they could have opened my bottle for me.Overall, it was not worth the $40+ we spent. It’s the small details that make the difference.
Dang, I am so bummed. When this place first opened, I had quite possibly THE best smoked brisket I’ve ever had in my life. I have returned to other locations since then, but this was my first trip back to where it all started (for me). Naturally, I expected to recreate that initial magic. What we got were mostly despondent employees, COLD, SUPER DRY brisket, 2 sides instead of 3, and no bread (didn’t really need the bread, but still, it says it comes with the meal). It would be one thing if we weren’t going in with high expectations, but I can’t wrap my head around how low this place has sunk.If I ever give 4 Rivers a go again, it will not be at this location. They should probably let their employees know that they need to be a little more engaged and that the customer is spending a decent amount of money. We should get all of the sides we are paying for, especially when they’re (sadly) better than the main reason people are coming — the meats.
I hate to leave a negative review, because I used to love this place. Unfortunately, not entirely all their fault, but they are getting expensive. I say this because some is in their control. For example their drinks are almost $3 dollars and the glass is barely bigger than a kids cup. On this particular day their soda machine was also out of flavor.
Could be the best BBQ anywhere! 4 Rivers Smokehouse brisket cannot be beat even in Texas! We asked how long it takes to cook and was told 14 hours. OMG was it delusions. Got the lean which was moist and FLAVORFUL! Their original sauce is good but this meat is so tender and flavorful that it hold up exceptionally without any sauce. Had a side order of burnt ends and they are out of this world. Side we had were great. Baked beans, cold slaw, corn but save room for the coconut cake in the bakery section. Wish they sold stock in the company I would invest. This is the Chic fil a of BBQ!
BBQ rates a 4.0 in my opinion; beans and collard greens are especially good.Service rates a 2.5 at best; not so good.Employees seem to almost be trained to be cold and to not smile.Lone exception in my last (3) visits was young Ladyat register today, who had real personality.Making customers feel welcome would greatly benefit 4 Rivers.
Atmosphere is fast casual. The brisket and chicken tenders were delicious. The parents and two picky kids all enjoyed our lunch.
Their vegetarian tips sandwich is to die for! So many choices. Real glass bottled sodas available, as well as fountain. So much for everyone's dietary needs. Fantastic smoke! I truly recommend 4 Rivers Smokehouse.
