Polite service however, it’s my first time here and sadly the food did not hit the spot. They gave me the bottom of the pot rice so it was hard and unpleasant to eat. Plus I could hardly find the beans that made it rice and beans. The plate of food was cold, not even “warm” and that’s another disappointment. The cabbage and vegetables were really good. The meat was nicely portioned. I’m willing to try it again but in hopes that the food will be hot and the rice fresh. Oh, and the meat needs a little more seasoning. I think there’s potential for better…
The Server was so very pleasant. The fish was excellent Unfortunately my chicken plate wasn't good. I was visiting the area after 15 yrs and wanted Brown Stewed chicken .My chicken was smothered in gravy the way I liked but, it was too dry and hard The peas and rise was very salty on both plates..I spent at least $40 dollars I also bought drinks and paid for fried dumplings I didn't receive after calling back to ask the server had she remembered to place them in the bag. .she replied yes but I arrived to my hotel out east NO dumplings.
Ordered the brown stew chicken and it was amazing ! Kiss to the chef ! I rather come here than those commercial Jamaican restaurants. Customer service is A1 as well . Highly recommend
Ho Lord they have cowfoot soup!!!! Say what? Yes cow-foot soup!!!! Only on Wednesday. Yes their other meals are wonderful but that soup would make you want to slap your daddy!!! Yes I said daddy cause there’s no way I would slap my mamma!
Listen, I will never eat Donnas or none of that commercial Jamaican food ever!! This is the real deal. I’ve ordered 3x so far through DoorDash & the food is bomb!! The service is great & you now have a loyal customer! Me & my boyfriend love this food! & it’s affordable with a heaping full of food. Keep doing y’all thing Carls !!
Great food newer location, another location on 441 and oakland pk blvd. People are nicer than the other franchise Jamaican restaurants you get larger portions here and the winner at this restaurant for me is you can buy a mini in any meal I buy breakfast and dinner the other restaurant size starts at lunch special or a small. Brenda my go to person behind the counter great service from all the ladies but I deal with her more. Their porridge selection is awesome the three in one and the cornmeal are my two favorite. I gave up on the other franchises I get better service and have a better choice of size food that I can buy. When I go there I can get smaller portion so I buy a variety of food which last for days. Dare to try someplace new Carls on university and commercial go with an open mind. You are in for a treat.

Mel and Deborah are awesome I always get the BEST service possible from these ladies at your restaurant they definitely deserve promotions or raises. if it was not for Mel I would no longer be eating at Carl's Seafood I've had multiple horrible experiences at the Lauderdale Lakes location Mel Always! Always! steps up and goes above and beyond to make sure that I'm happy she is a key contributor to your business success. Courtney is an awesome cook as well keep it up Carl's Family ?
Toooooo rude. I walked out. Ppl think if they rude behind the counter the food is good. That's a lie. I'll stick with People's Choice. I'm good on this franchise
They serve large portions and for fair rates. super friendly staff. I recommend this place.
