This was my first time here and even though it's out on Thomasville road it was definitely worth the drive!Today is Memorial day and i was expecting the place to be full. Surprisingly it was not.. I noticed a lot of people were calling in their orders. The man behind the register was very polite and informative. Me and my friend decided to get to the pulled pork sandwich piled high with Cole slaw? and fried corn on the cob. They had a large menu in the front for you to order from. The food came out hot and fresh!Afterwards all I could think about what I was gonna order next time ☺️I can still smell that Bbq in the air...wowThis place is very handicapped ♿ accessible...I noticed it didn't have a ramp but it had a smooth easement for wheelchairs. No one was wearing masks but the place was very clean.I love this BBQ jointThanks Willie Jewels ?⭐⭐⭐⭐
The pulled pork and brisket was really tender and full of flavor. The peach cobbler was inedible and the banana pudding had mold on it and we couldn’t eat them. The peach cobbler tasted like it was old and microwaved to be hot and for mold to grow on the banana pudding it must be old. You shouldn’t charge 3.50 for a small cup of dessert that is not made fresh and has mold. This is sad because the bbq was pretty good.
thank you that pulled pork sandwich was ???????? my picky 8 yr old who hates anything new actually ate it. He rated it a 10 out of 0
Portion on salad on the grilled chicken salad was disappointing for $12.99. It looked like a $7.99 salad. Some of the lettuce was brown. For $13.99 I can get a bountiful shrimp salad packed with flavor up the road. Asked for no croutons, got croutons. Asked for ranch with appetizer, got blue cheese. Bread for pb&j for my child was dry. Food is mediocre at best. Staff was pleasant & friendly & atmosphere was pleasant. Food not up to par.
Live all the way in Michigan and had their amazing sauce shipped to us (the Sweet and Sassy one to be exact)! Customer service here is just above and beyond. Coming from a Michigander where a lot of the people in customer service are rude, it was a breath of fresh air dealing with Willie Jewell's. If I ever make it to Tallahassee, I will make SURE I stop here!!! If I could give this place 20 stars I would!
Stopped in on a Sunday evening and had the smoked turkey with fries and cole slaw. Turkey was most and tasty. I tried all four sauces and the spicy, mustard, and sweet were my favs. The hickory was a little too strong. Fries weren't anything special but were hot and fresh; the cole slaw was solid, albeit not as sweet as some other ones I prefer. My friend had the brisket and pulled pork; the pork seemed a bit dry, but birsket was tasty...maybe a bit too fatty, but ithave just been the piece he got.All in all, we were both pleasantly surprised and would definitely go back to try some of their other offerings.Service was friendly and quick, and the portions were plentiful.
The sides are below average. I had corn fritters and okra. The full slab of ribs was a third slab of fat. Every bone was so fatty. The flavor was good but I hate biting into fat. I was very disappointed.
I've been to Willie Jewel's BBQ several times now. Each and every time we go it's for take out orders. Each and ever time they get 3 or 4 orders perfectly right. Perfectly hot and delicious. They always put everything we need in our bags and make sure we have plenty bbq sauce.Every time we go they are friendly and smiling. Thank you for being the only take out restaurant that I can count on!
We moved to Tallahassee from the midwest and left behind one of the best open pit smoked rib pit restaurants in the US so I wasn't expecting to find anything close to it here but boy was I wrong!!! Willie Jewels food is spectacular and their barbecue sauce while different from Walt's is every bit as delicious. So happy to have found this Jewel of the South and will eat here often!!!
Coming from Jacksonville Florida and now living in Tallahassee Florida I finally found a barbecue restaurant that I can say was excellent I have the rate this one up with the top 10 and I'll tell you what we ordered today we figured we try the ribs and the only way they cook them is a dry rub and I figured that's the best way to but when I got those ribs they was so perfectly cook they were sliding off the bone and a flavor you can imagine also let me tell you about the. There three types of homemade barbecue sauce with they make they make a mustard base they make a hot mustard base and a sweet barbecue sauce today is Wednesday when we went there and I did not know it in the vegetable of the day what's creamed corn and they made it from scratch no can creamed corn I'm talking homemade from scratch they also have one of the best collard greens I have to say just about everything in there is excellent I do a lot of reviews for Google if you look at my reviews I would rate this up in the top tens as one of the best barbecue restaurants that I seen in awhile but the service was perfect the food was nice and hot and fresh and the restaurant is kept up very clean I definitely would give this a try because if you don't you definitely missing out I really hope this review help you out and I hope you enjoy your ribs like we had
