Food and service was very good. We ate there twice while we stayed overnight in Tallahassee. Both nights were great
Server was excellent and food was good. The hostess though, couldn't be bothered with people. Walked me around the dining that was empty and then tossed the menus on the table and walked away. She was more concerned with what was on her cellphone than her job!
I have lived in Tallahassee for a long time and I have never been to Village Inn until today. It was pretty quick and pretty tasty. I got a griddle combo which comes with eggs, bacon, and pancakes, but you are free to make substitutions if you like. I would definitely go again.
Yum yum yum... Can't believe I'm just now finding this gem. Food was amazing. Delicious sunny side eggs cooked to perfection. Perfect grits warm with butter. Light fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon. And the service was even better. Immediately seated and I can't say enough about our server. Shannon is definitely amazing at her job. She kept our glasses full and plates cleaned up. She was kind and pleasant. I look forward to making this a frequent place to eat. And the price is great. This place deserves 8 stars.
Placed my order online and its now been over an hour. Still waiting for my food. When I arrived they didn't even know I'd placed an order. Could understand that but even from arrival itsbeen 45 minutes from NY arrival. I'd leave if they didn't already have my money. And it's not even crowded. Never again!
Last Friday (10.29.21) just after 9am was not a good day for this location! We sat in a window booth that had a great view of the kitchen. That day we learned that the servers also plate the food?! One young white guy was scratching his beard & face while plating and an older white lady was licking her fingers while packing a customer's to-go order. Mind you neither wore gloves! These same servers process sales, handle money, handle plates, menus, etc. all with bare hands and uncovered heads. Our coffee mug was crusty to which our server (the older white lady) happily replaced. To boot: two of the staff got into a loud altercation in the back using foul language and name-calling. Only one of the staff was ordered to clock-out by management. We have videos of everything listed above: the servers handling food & the altercation. The photos are attached!
Food was good but short on staff. Had sign on table to pay waitress your check. Left $10.00 tip on top of check. Little did I know that my debit card would be charged 3 times with different amounts. Got one charged back to my card. Every time I called. Told to call back with different times to talk to person that can fix it. Make sure you check your account after going.
First of all, current hours are not posted on the door, only their regular hours. Second we got there at 7:20pm, unloaded our baby and toddler from the car into their stroller, just to walk in and be told they close at 8 and their chef had somewhere to be so they couldn't serve us. Unless it's an emergency, their chef should stay his actual hours. Our little ones just pick off our plates so they wouldn't have to prepare much. And we eat fast but I feel that was not good customer service.
I had the music star omelette and pancakes. Great pancakes!!! The place was clean and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The place is obviously well managed. Keep it up
Only one waitress working. She was so calm. She didn't panic when 7 of us walked in. She took our orders with a smile, and served with a smile. Everyone was very happy. Be proud of Amy. She is a great waitress, and I hope to get her, the next time I go there.
