First impressions mean everything and a less than half full parking lot should have been a clue. I walked into a lobby that only contained a sign saying to wait to be seated and an empty podium with no place to sit for waiting customers. No employee or anything and completely ignored by any other employees that walked by.. Once someone finally showed up i was informed rudely "We're busy and you need to wait." Actually I didn't because with that comment and attitude I felt it was better to take my business elsewhere where it might be more appreciated.
It was cold in the lobby today 5/10/2022. My food was getting cold before I could eat it. I had to get a to go box so I could bring my food home so I could eat it. This is not the first time it was like this. If they would of turned some of the ceiling fans off. I realize the staff is hot from running around. But without customers you wouldn't need staff. I told the waitress but she just said it was hot in there. So I guess they want to freeze the customers out.thank you Phyllis Leggett
One of the best things about moving to Tallahassee is having Sonny's BBQ here! The nearest place to my previous residence in Pompano Beach was over an hour away. And yes, I made that trip several times.I didn't think they could get any better. They they added the Sonny's Cuban! I was skeptical because Cuban sandwiches have been a favorite since I was a kid. I was blown away by how awesome it tasted! Now I may order other things, but their Cuban is going to be a part of my meal from now on! :)
Fast friendly service people. Best of all the food , was great . Get the ribs. You won't be disappointed in them at all. Also try all 5 of the BBQ sauces that are on the table. Find your favorite one. You be going..........WOW ! ! !
We were served our appetizer but given no plates or silverware. When our food was served (my daughter ordered salad), we were still not given silverware. My daughter had to go find her own. Our pork sandwiches were half fat. No one ever checked on us. The staff was very nice, but I prefer good service.
Disappointed in catering service! Father called in an order for $451 for family get together the next day. Called the next morning to check on the order and they said no record of him ever calling. They did tell him they would still have time to prepare the order for 3pm today and we could pick up then. Got there at 3:10 and waited 10 minutes for someone to wait on me. Wasn’t ready yet. Finally at 3:45 they wheeled it out. Most of the food was good, chicken was very dry, they forgot our Cole slaw! Disappointing to say the least. Won’t recommend.

I was so excited to see a Sonny's BBQ while visiting a friend in Tallahassee. All the ones in Tampa closed. This restaurant is under renovation. Everything was new and clean. Our server was amazing. The food was delicious. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and a side salad. Everything was perfect. Will definitely be back next time I am in Tallahassee.
Sonny's is usually good. Once in awhile it seems the meat might be a little old and dry but overall when the meat is fresh and moist it's great
Good meal and great service. I went yesterday and the waitress was extremely nice and attentive! I would go again!
