Have been a fan of Madso for years. Always somewhere I take family when they visit. This last visit was definitely a let down. $14.50 for a turkey club at brunch with thick, cheap turkey meat and a sliver of bacon. Added avocado, only got it on half the sandwich. Asked for more avocado and the server seemed annoyed. Fries tasted like they had been sitting in grease (not sure how since it was only 10am). Service was ok but with only a few tables occupied I don’t think we should have to wave down the server from her perch at the bar well. Maybe it is because it was after graduation that the quality was lower? Most of the important clients will have gone back home. Will try again as we’ve been loyal customers since the opening but hoping that for such a high price we get something better than what we received this last visit. A salad, a turkey club, blt dip, and 2 bloody Mary’s was $77.
I've been here twice for lunch and it was hit or miss. This time I came in on a Thursday night just looking for a drink. Kitchen was closed and was told I have to order from the bar and then have a seat anywhere. Bartenders apparently don't want to take drink orders for people over 50 years old....the one female bartender was just chatting up her sorority sisters the entire time. I made eye contact with a couple of other bartenders but no luck. I left without any drinks for my wife and I. Bartenders clearly aren't there to make money. They forgot that parents like to tip! $$$
Disappointed from the initial contact with the hostess to the overall environment. We arrived, had a small wait, this wasn't an issue. However, once we we were called for our table, the hostess curtly said our name, dismissed my party to take another to their table that arrived after us. There are no options on the menu for customers with allergies. The cocktails terrible, but they took so long to make we didn'twant to ask for anything else.. The food was sub-par and so was the server. We would have walked out if we weren't starving.
The staff overall were sweet but they all lack of urgency to take our order or acknowledge us. We were in a rush so we waited. It wasn’t busy at all and they seemed good in the amount of workers. The food it’s okay nothing very special. Make sure to tell your server your order clear or make them write it down because they do forget your order and bring the wrong order out. Make sure you have the whole day off to eat here.
As mentioned by others, the service at this restaurant is very sub-standard. One of the tricks they like to use: if you have a party of 8 or more, the gratuity is automatic, so they don't actually have to provide you any service at all. I saw our server when she took our orders, when she delivered the food, and when she gave us the check. That isn't worth a 20% tip, at least not in my eyes.
To the gentleman that was helping bus tables. I would like to thank you for your kind heart. You saw that we had three toddlers and you went out of your way to get a banana pudding and put it in a Togo container for the kids. You my friend are someone that the world should model themselves from. That little act of kindness made our day! Thank you again and keep that amazing attitude. God is watching!
The service was awful. The food was subpar. It's more of a bar than a restaurant. I will not be returning, which is a shame because it is so close.
Our server, Violeta, was very good. We felt taken care of. Cool atmosphere, relaxed. My Turkey BLT was good and received positive reviews for the burger and cobb salad. The Proof 850 was brew was a nice suggestion.
It’s always a interesting experience every visit I have at Madison Social . First off after being seated by the hostess it took about 25 minutes for our waiter to come and take our order for drinks , and even waiting for those it took an ridiculous amount of time . Finally he took our order for the food and presentation was a bit out of place but the flame in the food was definitely all there . Lucky we were able to order the “Stack of the Month “ a special they host every money with a different flavor of pancakes. *spoiler* this month of February celebrating love, the flavor for the stacks were Strawberry Pancakes with an extra load of strawberry compost on top with whip cream surround all over . One thing that definitely definitely disappointed me was the waffles for the “Waffle& Chicken” dish if the restaurant is going to decide to use pre-made waffles the least they can do is make sure it’s properly warmed up . The food came cold and had a very brittle gritty taste .Unfortunately Madison Has disappointed me again led me to having high hopes and brought me down with multiple easy fix cons .
Madison is a superbly lively social venue in FSU College Town mainly for college students and within walking distance of their dorms and housing... with Coosh's Cajun across the street *Triple G
