We ordered appetizers, a couple of main dishes, and two kids dishes and although all was good, more like ok, nothing jumped out and made me think I want to order this again. Also totally annoying when you order a main dish that comes with a salad they don't allow you to upgrade to a soup. Of course I offered to pay for the difference but the waiter (Tayagorn) stuck to the story and said I could order an additional soup but not upgrade the salad. Not sure why restaurants have stupid rules like that when you spend over $100, or whatever the amount is, shouldn't matter. Anyway it will be a one time visit and then take them off the list.
Holy cow - I've had three grouper entrees in the four days I've been here in St. Augustine but this was by far the best!!! Please keep this on the menu!
A group of us were in Tallahassee to see a Styx concert and while out and about, stumbled into Harry's Seafood Bar and Grille. It was delightful, Food was great, and mostly mimicked Cajan-syle dishes. Even some drinks like the Hurricanes a couple of us had were a reminder of New Orleans. The service was quite good and the portions were massive. Very tasty too! Will certainly go back to Harry's the next time I'm in Tallahassee!
It was okay for an airport bar, I've been to better I've been to worse, bit when there are only 2 in the whole airport, you pick the one with a seat at the rail.
We stopped for lunch after picking up our friend at the airport. Harry's is in a plaza with outdoor seating that gives you a partial view of the city. The bar area is spacious and inviting. There were drink specials as well. We ordered she crab soup, crab cakes, jambalaya and fish specials. The jambalaya was delicious and a huge portion! Everything was plated well, and there were no misses - all hits! Attentive service and pleasant staff. Recommend.
I have eaten at Harry’s several times over the years. Every visit has been enjoyable, even this one, except for the food. Harrys has a nice bar area, great priced drinks a couple of nice interior dining rooms plus a large balcony for outdoor dining. The balcony could use some shades to block the late afternoon sunset. Now things start going downhill. The waitstaff, mostly pleasant college kids are polite but not professionals. They fail to keep cocktails refilled, the ice in the water glasses melted and not replenished and they failed to clean up between courses. Even though it was an early Sunday dinner they were out of their two most popular appetizers. They advertise themselves as a Cajun themed restaurant. They need to do that to hide the mediocre quality of their food. If the food is “crappy cover it with sauce.” The devil crab cakes along with the scallops had no flavor, the rib eye was fatty, tough and no flavor and the beef tenderloin was not tender, it was also fatty and swimming in butter sauce. This was not a one-time occurrence; Harry’s has been steadily going downhill. Drinks yes, food no. We will not be back.
Complained to cashier after dinner. She asked "How was everything?" I said, "Not up to par, I've had better. The shrimp were overcooked like rubber." Her answer as she took the credit card, "No one ever says that." Then why ask? If you"re going to abuse the diner after asking how it was, then just don't ask. Just grab the credit card and run it through. Apparently, the cashier just repeats the question like a robot. They don't really care how it was.
Nice time at Harry's; I think the last time I wrote a review, I wasn't very happy with the experience but had a much better experience today. We were able to beat the lunch crowd (arrived around 11:45), which is a plus for me. We were seated right away; our waiter came over immediately; he was very friendly/very attentive. My sister and I ordered the chicken and grits (not a fan of having my collard greens on top of my grits, so requested the greens be on the side); my daughter ordered the chicken tenders. I also ordered the jazzy shrimp; note, the complimentary warm bread, and spreadable garlic butter were enjoyable. Everything was delicious and spot-on today; mimosas weren't on the drink menu, but my sister and daughter were able to improvise! LOL!
Kind and pleasant staff and great diner food. Suggest the Mac and cheese! Also a full bar and plenty of seating. Cozy, comfortable, and friendly!
Only 2 choices to eat at this small airport but the brisket plate with broccoli and potatoes was great
