From out of town and first time and was delicious food and great service ?
The food was good, and the waitress was excellent.
Crab cakes appetizer 4.5/5 - delicious, mostly crab mix (sometimes other places mix in too much non-crab stuff), decent aioli sauceLouisiana fondeax 4/5 - throw in more crawfish please! Otherwise a great, filling appGrouper fingers 2/5 - pretty flavorless - maybe thats how grouper is? Nice fry though and the deviled egg tarter sauce stole the show in this dishBeef tenderloins medallions 3.5/5 - i think it needed more salt, however the cook at medium rare was well executed. Dont get the red beans & rice :(Crab crusted redfish royale 4.5/5 - whoever created this dish must have my pallet bc its all things i love. The only thing is it was missing something - a kick, acidity, salt? Not quite sure.
We ordered appetizers, a couple of main dishes, and two kids dishes and although all was good, more like ok, nothing jumped out and made me think I want to order this again. Also totally annoying when you order a main dish that comes with a salad they don't allow you to upgrade to a soup. Of course I offered to pay for the difference but the waiter (Tayagorn) stuck to the story and said I could order an additional soup but not upgrade the salad. Not sure why restaurants have stupid rules like that when you spend over $100, or whatever the amount is, shouldn't matter. Anyway it will be a one time visit and then take them off the list.
The food was amazing, spur lunch date with my babies and niece. The staff was super understanding and attentive!!! Highly recommend the crab cakes. The she crab soup was very seasoned, a tad too seasoned. Happy hours is form 2-7!!!
Holy cow - I've had three grouper entrees in the four days I've been here in St. Augustine but this was by far the best!!! Please keep this on the menu!
A group of us were in Tallahassee to see a Styx concert and while out and about, stumbled into Harry's Seafood Bar and Grille. It was delightful, Food was great, and mostly mimicked Cajan-syle dishes. Even some drinks like the Hurricanes a couple of us had were a reminder of New Orleans. The service was quite good and the portions were massive. Very tasty too! Will certainly go back to Harry's the next time I'm in Tallahassee!
So after several disappointing meals at other places we finally asked a local. Without skipping a beat they said Harry's. Wow I should have eaten here every night! Ridiculously large portions, great prices and excellent food! Oh yeah Oreo beignets, don't think I need to expand on that lol
We stopped for lunch after picking up our friend at the airport. Harry's is in a plaza with outdoor seating that gives you a partial view of the city. The bar area is spacious and inviting. There were drink specials as well. We ordered she crab soup, crab cakes, jambalaya and fish specials. The jambalaya was delicious and a huge portion! Everything was plated well, and there were no misses - all hits! Attentive service and pleasant staff. Recommend.
I have eaten at Harry’s several times over the years. Every visit has been enjoyable, even this one, except for the food. Harrys has a nice bar area, great priced drinks a couple of nice interior dining rooms plus a large balcony for outdoor dining. The balcony could use some shades to block the late afternoon sunset. Now things start going downhill. The waitstaff, mostly pleasant college kids are polite but not professionals. They fail to keep cocktails refilled, the ice in the water glasses melted and not replenished and they failed to clean up between courses. Even though it was an early Sunday dinner they were out of their two most popular appetizers. They advertise themselves as a Cajun themed restaurant. They need to do that to hide the mediocre quality of their food. If the food is “crappy cover it with sauce.” The devil crab cakes along with the scallops had no flavor, the rib eye was fatty, tough and no flavor and the beef tenderloin was not tender, it was also fatty and swimming in butter sauce. This was not a one-time occurrence; Harry’s has been steadily going downhill. Drinks yes, food no. We will not be back.
