Italian Avocado Toast with basted eggs is excellent. Side of real fruit, not the syrupy kind in a can. Wide range of option
Canopy Road Cafe was a good place to eat. The food and service were acceptable. It is clearly visited by locals who may have been eating there for years. They have inside and outside dining but the entire dining area is pretty small. It was busy on the day we went but we still did not have to wait for a table. The restaurant was busy and had a steady flow of customers. Our table was a little sticky. I would go back here but cannot give it more than 3 stars.
The eggs were great. My server Nicole was so nice and helpful. If I went back, I wouldn't have the grits - too watery for me - or the biscuits and gravy. But the coffee was definitely worth going back for.
Honest Review!Average for Tallahassee.Food is good but average for price range. (Definitly Better than Waffle House at same price). A bit less traditional than advertising as American Style Diner. Not really a pratical experiece, but honestly, about average for Tallahassee,We (2 people) ate at Cracker Barrel the week before for Breakfast for almost identical price. Breakfast was better and Service was great.Owners are NY'er so Souther style should not be expected. Some twist on menu, looked good. The Feta cheese on the Avocado Toast made the dish (but needed Tomatoes on side). But overall, no standard Beakfast plates offered on menu as expected with exception to Special which was best deal..... Special (2 eggs, toast grits) is $5. Add meat $3Drinks are $3 but you'll need to chase waitress for refill. Why its not a 4 Star:...Most of menu is kinda yuppy (again normal for Tallahassee) Needed a Tradional Breakfast listing on menu (since the state they are American Style Diner)....RAP/ Hip Hop music was playing (rather loud from kitchen). It appeared the music was for staff and not the customers since I was few younger people in there and one young lady was dancing in kitchen....Waitress only returned to give check. Never got my coffee refilled.Just an FYI if you have family in town. They turned away a group of 10 saying they do not take over 8 in a party. Also, Not very good parking at this location (why we ate at Cracker Barrel the week before-No Parking)----Tallahassee really needs a Southern breakfast nook style resteraunt kinda like you find in Mid Florida. I had great hopes this would be better given the reviews. But all things considered, if you want a good breakfast in Tallahassee at this time, you'll get a more tradional one at Cracker Barrel for about the same.If you want a Twist to your Breakfast, you may like this one.Food was well prepared and served. Hope they get other items mentioned straightened out.
I've only visited this location once so far. It's small and easy to miss. The seating is limited, so I would avoid busy times. We went on a Sunday morning and got seated right away but the table was right in front of the door, so it definitely wasn't a great spot. As the lunch rush picked up, there was a wait for seating. It does feel cramped inside the store, so maybe sit on the patio. Service was okay, but the server seemed disconnected. Our food was good! I've enjoyed the food at all the different locations, but my over easy eggs came broken already. Not a big deal, but it was all over the plate. Still tasted good! My fiance had the sweet potato pancakes and they were great!
The sweet potato pancake was AMAZING !! Our server was a lil prompt could be a little happier but other than that I have no complaints...
One could say they died and went to food heaven when experiencing the churro waffle. We ignored the rest of the food when it came out and enjoyed every bite of this hot tasty crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside waffle of perfection. The whipped cream is homemade, the coffee is tops and so is the service! The main dishes were large, we could have split a skillet between us with that waffle on the side and were also very very good. For two foodies we were so elated by the experience, we overlooked getting pictures of the food (will get some next visit and post). We were lucky to nab a table right away but there is usually a wait. We will be back for more!! Highly recommend, best breakfast of our lives!
Great staff and awesome food! Its a very small but friendly restaurant that has that family ran feel. They had the BEST kids meal and my Eggs Benedict were on point! The ONLY negative I saw was that there was only one bathroom. The good news is the line always moved quickly.
Seated at 11am. Ordered at 11:15am. Still waiting on food at 11:45am. May or may not come back to this location.
Amazing variety, creative combinations of flavours, served and prepared with pride and precision! No, I'm not the owner...lol! Seriously , you can't go wrong ?Avocado toast!
