I used to love BFG. The last five years, it’s really went down hill. Typically the case when private equity squeezes margins.Food portions are small. Much more expensive than what it used to be. You can eat the entire loaf of bread in one bite. They give you a half a spoon of potatoes.For this location - the service isn’t great. Sad to see where this restaurant has trended. Pretty typical result when management is hiding in the back. Not once did they walk the restaurant or even show their face in the 90 minutes I was there.
Very disappointed.Had been here before and food and service were excellent.Ordered surf and turf. Lobster was good but steak was cooked to a crisp. Sent it back and it took 25 minutes for it to be done. It was okay this time but flavorless.Waitress also stood and talked to the people at the table next to us for at least 15 minutes while I was waiting for the return of my new steak. I had to ask her to check to see if it was done yet.☹️
We went there to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had not been there in a long time. It was amazing how great the food is now. The batter on the calamari was better than ever. My husband's fish was excellent. My fontina chop was the best it had ever been and I have had a lot of them at Bonefish. The waitress,Elise, was fantastic. We will be back for more good food and service!
Nice seating and good booths for four to six people. My wife and I both had trout prepared in different ways. Tasted both and they were excellent. Nice side salad and vegetable choices included with entree. Look forward to going back there again.
Sat down and ordered two "fish and fries with house prepared tarter sauce" dinners. When the meals were brought out, the waitress declared that they were fresh out of tarter sauce. I expressed my disappointment. She went back to the kitchen and spoke with the chef who said that she could possibly create a sauce for us. We said fine. Fifteen minutes later we had to ask the waitress to see if the sauce was yet ready. She returned to report that the chef was working on it. Cold fish with runny/watery sauce was disappointing. Meals cost $53. Left a hefty tip for the poor waitress, but would never consider returning to Bone Fish.
I rarely do reviews but unfortunately I have to give this Bonefish one star… My husband and I went there for a date night last night. Our wait time was over an hour (which is totally understandable because it was a Saturday night and we had not made reservations). But once we got seated, it all went downhill. We waited for 45 minutes before our waitress even came over to bring us our water and bread because she had “gotten distracted”. By that time, I had already asked ANOTHER waiter next to us to bring us at least our waters (which he did and was super helpful). The food took another hour after we had finally ordered (at this point we were ready to leave but we decided to just wait…) then our own waitress was only to be seen one other time, until the very end of the night! The other waiter was the one who waited on us for the most part and even brought us our food. The food came out cold, overcooked Salmon for me. My husbands steak was NOT at all how he ordered it and to top it off, our appetizer dip we had gotten gave us both severe stomach aches (possibly food poisoning) because we’ve been up all night…. Regardless of the terrible experience we did tip our waitress 20% because she was only 20 years old and apologized because she knew she had messed up - and my husband and I have both worked in restaurants and know how chaotic it can get. But this was very disappointing and unnecessary considering it’s a Bonefish.. Needless to say, do NOT go here - by far the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time, if not - ever. And read the reviews before you consider going to this Bonefish because apparently we are not the only ones who had a similarly awful experience.
Started of okay but grew increasingly worse as we sat at the table waiting. Drinks came pretty fast but we ordered the mussels for an appetizer... Took a while. And though I stressed gluten free no bread. It came with a bunch of bread on the side. Wasnt touching the mussels. So after removing the bread...I tried eating some of the mussels only to find them cold and a good dozen of them weren't open. So you don't eat those... Not good. Then we waited for dinner for at least an hour... Was going to ask for the check but the waiter said let me see if I can get it for you. So 10 minutes later he comes out with our plates. I had gotten broiled mahi mahi with shrimp and mashed potatoes... Steamed spinach. The fish was to have a light citrus sauce... It came out blackened. We just wanted to leave at that point because we were still 1.5 hours from home and it was getting late. The mashed potatoes were cold... Spinach cold. Fish luke warm. I ate the shrimp... Not thinking... Then recalled there were no blackened items on the gluten free menu... Now am hoping there wasn't something in the blackening spice the was not gluten free. The waiter also didn't bring the salsa that was to come with it so I had to ask him for it. I don't like blacked items and this was very thick and spicy... So I gave the fish to my husband. ... So I have been looking up blackening to see if any have gluten in them. Not seeing any... But another hour should tell. I react and get ill about two hours after I ingest gluten. I should have refused to eat it... But it was such a mess already and I was still hungry. Think twice before going to this place. I have been to other Bonefish grills with no problems... This this one was kind of a disaster.
I had a great time this week with Lilliana as my server. She was funny and had such a positive attitude which is so hard to find these days. The food was amazing as usual. Will definitely be back and hopefully can request her again!
