Backwoods never disappoints! I've been for brunch and dinner multiple times and I always leave wanting to go back the very next day because it's so good. The food and drinks alone make this place 5 stars but as an added bonus the atmosphere and staff are brilliant. Plan to make reservations if you're going on a weekend. But during weekdays walk ins are usually fine.
The waitress was friendly and efficient, the drinks were good, the food was delicious - especially Seafood Heaven, just amazing!
Great food and friendly staff. Definitely worth the stop. You will not be disappointed. Great deviled eggs & jalapeño bites. Excellent steak sandwich & shrimp salad.

Food was good, not great. The hostess was inept. A 35 minute wait for a table stretched to an hour. Stopped by desk several times to see that she had missed our table of five. Gave gentle reminders twice along with letting her know we had my 89 year old mother with us. Nothing but an apology from the manager another 20 minutes later for the “confusion” of the hostess. When we were seated at a table that had been vacant the entire night, in center of loud room where it was impossible to hear. No apology from hostess. No accommodation from management. Average experience. Cannot recommend
Amazing farm to table experience! The escargot was perfect! Full of herbs and garlic! The burgers were to die for. This is a must try restaurant in Tallahassee.
I love that the menu changes often like Food Glorious Food. The only thing that I didn’t like was with the Garden Creations is that with whatever I didn’t want or didn’t like I couldn’t exchange it for something else. So I would’ve paid the same price. Overall beautiful setting. I went with my sister waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Service was quick and prompt. The waitress was a sweetheart.
This is exactly what you would expect from the name. Farm to table kind of place. Nice people with good food. Mashed Sweet Potatoes were excellent and so was the Veggie Burger. Lot's of flavor. Would have given it 5 stars except the salad portions were very small for a $13 salad!!!
