My second experience here. The first time I walked in at lunchtime and there was only 1 customer already seated and the sign said please wait to be seated. My boyfriend and I waited about 15 min before a guy walked out from back wearing a tank top and he was all sweaty. He asked how many, and we left. It was so disgusting seeing that. I decided I would try and do take out tonight. They gave me my order and it seemed light, so I got in the car and opened the containers to find the wrong food. I brought it back in, and although the hostess was very polite she said I had the correct order. I informed her I looked and it wasn't, so then she looked and apologized and rebagged that order for the proper customer. If it were my food taken to someone's car, I would want them to remake it. But they just gave it to the customer. I didn't do anything to the food but you don't know what others might do. I found the food to be bland. You get a lot but there just wasn't a lot of flavor in the soup, carbonara sauce, or lasagna. There are better places to go
The food was terrible all the way around. Baked clams were just so small and so mushy. The escargot was burnt and tasteless. The clam sauce over pasta was so dry it couldn't be eaten. The wasabi tuna was so dry it stuck in your throat. The shrimp scampi had no taste. The veal chop in one word HORRIBLE. Worst dinner my family and friends have had. BUT our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating.
First off the waitress tried to sell us every special on the menu and then when we said we were going to just have salads she just disappeared. I had also ordered a cup of the pasta soup. It was 90% white beans and when I called the waitress back over she said sorry but that’s the way it is we didn’t have enough pasta for the soup and it’s on the bottom anyway. Again, she walked away and made mention that she was taking care of a VIP table. What does a VIP table have to do with my wife and I having a nice quiet dinner. We never saw the waitress again until it was time to ask for the check. Never once did she ask us how our meal was or ask if we needed anything else. We won’t be back, there are better and other Italian restaurants With much better customer service.
New Yorker in Florida! What to do. What to do???!!! This place was very close to being home. Food was good. Service as well. And filled to capacity with native New Yorkers!!!!! ThY was the fun of the place. So if your ever down south in or near steward Florida. Around West Palm Beach. And your homesick for ny. That's the pace to be. Lol.
Driving south through Florida on a spur of the moment trip, googled restaurants near me and Casa Giuseppe came up. Menu looked good, so in we went.Hubby and I were treated to one of the best meals we've ever had in Florida, including the service.I had Shrimp and Scallop risotto, hubs had Chicken Francese. Every single bite from the bread, salad and the meal was amazing.Pietro was our server and he is charmingly old school. He understands the dining experience, not just a food courier.Sort of sad it's so far from home but a million kudos to the chef and staff.I don't know when, but we'll be back.
I have been going to Giuseppes for years but as of this experience I will no longer ever go again! My friend and I went for dinner and sat at a high top in the bar area. I ordered the special, duck and mushroom risotto. When the dinner was served the server just put the plates down in front of us and rushed away. The duck was good but the risotto was very dry and it was not cooked all the way. It was like dried rice and the mushrooms looked like they were from a can. It took awhile for me to get the servers attention but she finally came over and I told her I didn't think the rice was cooked enough. She said in a rude tone "this is the way we cook it, if you don't like it then get something else" I was shocked at her response. I said I would take the broccoli. It took quite a long time to get my dinner back. The sever never came back to check on us or to see if I was pleased with the change. We had to ask Gigi the bartender for another glass of wine, which he got for us. The next time we saw our server was when she put down our check and did not even say a word to us. I work in the restaurant industry so I do know what is to be expected when dining out. I tip accordingly, I will not reward bad service. I tipped 10%. When leaving the young blonde girl server rushed up behind me and said very loudly so everyone could hear "Hey [email protected]#ch you can keep your [email protected]#King tip and do not ever come back!" As you can imaging I was so shocked and appalled that this was even happening. The other customers looked on in amazement. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I went home very upset and felt violated. This is so horrendous it sounds made up, but believe me it is not. How horrible is this sever to treat anyone like this, let alone a customer. What type of restaurant condones this type of behavior? Obviously this place does and for that I will never go back!
Very busy for a good reason. The service is good, the food is excellent. The atmosphere OK. Everything we (3) had was very good.
Kids' portion of the spaghetti and meat ball was large and reasonably priced. The lasagna was delicious. The homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing was delicious. I ordered take out. The hostess was friendly, which is always a nice way to be received upon entering.
It's good solid American Italian. Don't expect to be transported back to the "old country". Fair prices. Good portions and attentive servers. Very public back of the house conversations which is always fascinating but may have been where I was seated. I'd certainly come back.
I’m assuming all the people giving 5 stars don’t get out much. The food was so blah…tasted like a frozen, microwave “Italian” meal. Way overpriced for the quality. The staff was also super unfriendly. We stood at the front for over 2 mins looking for an employee and when one arrived he didn’t greet us, smile or anything and that theme continued. Will never go back or recommend this place to anyone.
