First, let me say- super charming, adorable restaurant inside and out. Based on schedules we decided to get a table around 230-245pm. Mistake. I appreciate the staff and effort but they stop serving at 3 (we didn’t know) and sort of got caught in the “shut down /prepare for dinner mode” crease. We were chatting and I didn’t want to make the waitress wait so my friend ordered steak and frites I just chucked in the towel and said ‘me too’. Steak was 12 on a scale of 1-10! Meat was tender, nice compliment of beef gravy (just enough) and the. A lovely blue cheese top- yummmmmo! And then a bunch of fries- nothing h spectacular there, limp and a little greasy for my liking . Almost like the fries were just not the caliber of the steak- if I had a burger maybe I wouldn’t have noticed. Our waitress was delightful- you could tell there was a bunch of procedures being carried out but she was accommodating and friendly. Will try again but will pick a better time slot.
We were a party of five for a 1:30 lunch. Two of us arrived on time but three others got lost - for forty five minutes! The wait staff were not in the least perturbed even though lunch service ended at three. Our lovely server, Georgia, suggested we might like to order a couple of starters while we waited. What a treat. Excellent onion tart and chicken liver pate. When our party was complete we enjoyed a wonderful meal in this delightfully designed bistro. Both the burger and the steak were delivered medium rare as requested, the salad nicoise had perfectly seared tuna and crispy green beans. The mussels were tender and juicy and served in a broth which was delicious enough to mop up with a baguette. Puddings of blackberry tart and a chocolate torte were heavenly with a pistachio gelato topping it all off. The restaurant is immaculate including the ladies’ bathroom. A very important point - always check the bathrooms. They reflect the care the owners take. We sat inside and the French music was at just the right volume. I can’t vouch for the noise level at full capacity but since we were eating a late lunch there were just a few customers at the end of lunch service. There’s a good wine list and a well stocked bar. This was a lovely experience all around. Coming from Asia I’m used to a high standard of freshness and preparation and after quite a few disappointments in the US I was delighted to find Left Bank. There is good food to be found here after all! If I’m ever in St Pete again I know where I’m headed.
Had the perfect lunch last week at Left Bank! The service was so great that I have to leave a review, from the moment we walked through the door to the end of the meal. Skyler was our server and was absolutely wonderful: attentive, genuine, and helpful! A quick search for a lunch in St Pete turned into a lovely outdoor meal on their beautiful patio. Great food and we had one of the best cocktails we’ve had: the Fitzgerald. Not to mention the atmosphere inside and out is so cute! I have already started recommending to friends. Thank you left bank bistro! We will be back.
My friend ordered the Eggplant dinner and it was quite good. I ordered French Onion Soup and Lobster Ravioli. The onion soup literally had no taste, I left 3/4 uneaten yet the waitress didn't inquire why.... She also recommend the Collette beverage which tasted like champagne with a splash of Orange Soda...definitely not an impressive cocktail. The Lobster Ravioli smelled great and tasted great but at first blush looked like they had no lobster in them and looked a little blah (no sauce or garnishes). There was a lot of water on the dish. They were app. 4"x4" each (3) and I think that is why they appeared too thin but they were VERY filling and tasty.
Service was inexcusably slow. We waited an hour and 25 minutes for our food. The steak was overcooked. The snapper was a very tiny portion, and okay at best. We pointed out our wait to the manager at about an hour and 15 minutes. He said he would check on it, but he never even returned to check with us. Don’t waste your time or money. We came for lunch about three years ago, but we were very disappointed. We tried to give them another chance. What a mistake!
We didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us. First of all we sat in the monkey room on a rainy day. This is a must I love this room it helped me to relax. Food was on point we had the salmon spread than French onion soup and house salad. I had the short ribs and my husband had the chicken. Plus dessert. Our waitress was great she directed us in our decision. We will be back again
Lovely Bistro, dinned just after opening hour, no reservation and chose to sit in the bar table area, happy hour $5 House wines! Nice warm baguette, Coq au Vin with modification due to allergy, but still very good. Multiple In and outside dining areas, accessible rest area.
We had an amazing time at the Left Bank. The patio was beautiful, quiet and perfectly tucked back off the road so you can enjoy a peaceful and intimate dinner. Truly the perfect atmosphere. Skylar was our server and he was attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He gave both great food and wine recommendations which paired great with our meal and our whole party enjoyed. We had a last minute guest join us as the kitchen was plating our entrees and they pulled out a miracle and were able to serve him the meal he wanted minutes after ours arrived. That level of team work speaks volumes about how well their staff can work together and move mountains even on a busy Saturday night. The cocktails were spot on, bursting with flavor, light and refreshing. Everything was terrific. We will definitely have to come back for happy hour to try more of their spectacular cocktails!!
Kept hearing about this wonderful bistro and finally went for lunch. Heaven? Delicious (chicken tarragon salad sandwich, Croque Madame, escargots...all perfect); charming decor; excellent staff. Will return many times.
Me and my husband came here tonight for date night and it was absolutely incredible! Highly recommend. Wonderful food and even better service
