The staff was amazing, and the food was good. We had both the pork and veal, which everyone enjoyed and was well cooked. There were not as many traditional sides available which kept tgis from a 5 star but a nice spot for German fare.

Selfishly, I love that German cuisine isn't top of mind for most people, so when we treat ourselves to this fabulous restaurant, we can usually find a table. Located in the St Petersburg Edge District, sitting outside in this cute environment is always fun. The menu meets my (plant-based diet) needs and my husband's needs. I particularly love the curry sauce with the vegan sausages, the amazing sauerkraut like nothing I've ever tasted, and the German potato salad. Yum! And did I mention the dark German beer? You gotta check it out!

We saw the sign for Knodle and we definitely wanted to try it, especially the currywurst. It’s a small hole in the wall place that had recipes dating back to the gentleman’s grandmother from Germany. Service was average but the food more than made up for it. The currywurst was excellent! Enough sauce that you could taste the curry without being overwhelming. I was really impressed with the sauerkraut. It was on the sweeter side which I really enjoyed. My wife LOVED her goulash. She finished all of it, which she never does! Highly highly recommend.

Friendly atmosphere and good food had spicy sausage tasty and most tender sausage ever had. Great location on central downtown St Pete. Went down great with cold beer

The food was excellent. Small menu focused on German food (various sausages, schnitzels and salads). We had the Jager pork Schnitzel and it was amazingly tasted! Huge portion. Also a Greek salad - nice presentation and delicious. Service was great too! Stop by and give them a try, you will not regret it!

Love coming here after climbing. The hostess is always very nice every time we come here. The food is always good and never disappoints. My go to is always the Curry-wurst. They always have a good selection of beer.

While we were getting vegan ice cream next door we noticed a sign that mentioned vegan sausages. We were immediately sold. So we stop by, ordered our food, and found a table outside. It was 75 degrees out, not a cloud in the sky, a nice breeze would come down Central Ave here and there, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. The food came out in a timely manner. We took our first bite of the vegan sausage and it was amazing! Especially with the curry sauce poured over. We even asked more more curry sauce. The fries were cooked perfectly to a crispy outside and soft inside. The Hefeweizen was cold and delicious as well. 10/10 would stop by again.

The weather was beautiful to sit outside and enjoy a nice meal. The service was excellent and the food was really good. Definitely will be coming back!

When I was a child, I used to raise hamsters with my best friend, and we named all the females “Schnitzel” and all the males “Schneezee.” Fast forward 45 years to when I came here with my wife for take-out on a Friday night in March 2022. We were stationed at a table in the Green Bench Brewing Company where we enjoyed a savory wiener schnitzel – not hamster but rather pounded, breaded fried veal. The accompanying fries and German potato salad were pretty good as well. At $19, I cannot say it was a bargain (especially since we charged our customers only $0.50 per live hamster back in the 70s, and I had a comparable schnitzel meal for $14 in Dunedin a few days after eating here), but all things considered, it wasn’t highway robbery either. Later in the week, we wandered inside Knödel during an evening stroll, hoping to eat some strudel for dessert, but the restaurant had none left. Only German chocolate cake (that somebody else made) was available.

If you would try a German Schnitzel you should go there. Take the veal schnitzel. We had a Jäger- and a Curry-Schnitzel. Can’t recommend which one was the best. We ordered both and liked both. It was so wonderful to find some home food after traveling more than 5 month without a Schnitzel.
