Short Rib tacos were uninspiring - tortillas were straight from the package and the tacos were served with gloppy refried beans and ordinary rice that was hardly worth eating. Biscuits and gravy with no hint of Mexico were requested with over easy eggs but arrived with almost solid yolks. The two items arrived separately, with a five minute wait from when the biscuits were served until the tacos came out. With the many choices for Mexican food in St Petersberg, this place is not worth the visit. Many people like the bottomless drinks at Sunday brunch but the food is not great.

Some of the best Mexican food in the area, their chimichangas were cooked perfectly. Fun and welcoming environment. Looking forward to being back and trying some different flavors of the margs!

This place is worth coming to! The food is delicious and full of flavor. I really didn’t want to come at first, because I have had problems finding good Mexican food. Well, I’m glad I came, because the food was amazing!

Some of the best American Mexican food I've had in St Pete they were crazy busy yet the staff was attentive and super friendly. The food was fantastic, ordered the nachos as a appetizer. I haven't had better nachos anywhere, I also had the piscado Mexicali which was a perfectly cooked piece of haddock over a bed of yellow rice with some grilled shrimp on top perfectly seasoned. This place checks all the boxes, my new go-to for Mexican. Big shout out to the kitchen staff as busy as they were the food came out in a timely manner and hot and fresh. Another shout out to the lone bartender that kept the drinks flowing quick and cold .

I am a pretty good home cook and tend to judge restaurant food with my own cooking. Although the steak burrito was very all good, there was many minor issues with the side dishes. First, the steak burrito was great. The steak was tender and well seasoned. The habanero salsa queso sauce on top of the burrito is a must have. The refried bean was underwhelming, it did not have the rich lard flavor. I had the most issue with the rice. Specifically, the rice was lukewarm with dry hard pieces mixed in it. This suggest that the rice was not fresh and had sometime for some prices to dry out. The interior decor is cool. The bathroom is a little dark and dingy. I wouldn’t come back just for the food. I can see myself coming for a margarita with friends.

Fantastic food and great servers. We've been twice and both times, everything was spot on. Great Margarita, main dishes were flavorful, and desert was delicious!

Hands down, one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants I’ve been to here on the Gulf Coast! The chips and Queso is to die for! If you don’t know what to get, this is a MUST try for this restaurant. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed!

Now this is what I call a hearty Mexican food. Fantastic food, vibe and staff all around.Delicious birria with succulent short rib and the tastiest au jus you’d ever have. Try the Mac n cheese with beef short rib…just delicious. Great service and a very delightful hostess to greet you at reception. Must try the key lime brûlée if you’re there.

What a wonderful dinner of authentic Mexican food!! The staff was so friendly, making sure our food was up to standard, the atmosphere and vibe are great! The food scrumptious!! Specials every day, outdoor and indoor seating and a great bar and open kitchen. Modelo Especial on draught. Their Street Corn is as good as it looks! A great app for 4 really the serving of Cobbs covered in Mexican queso on a bed of sauce. We also split the tostada's (without adding a meat protein) which we're so good. They're beans are superb and this dish came with rice. Nueva Cantina is....to me...the best of the best when it come to Mexican fare.

Food is good but a little light on the size. We did have a great time, our waiter was fun. We'll be back when we are down here. My St Pete cousins come here regularly.
