We sat down to eat here the other day and, while I typically give restaurants quite a bit of slack when it’s busy, Novu was different. We weren’t acknowledged at all and ended up leaving after sitting there for 25 minutes. We were sitting in one of the central tables near the bar. Staff walked by us multiple times but it almost seemed as if they were ignoring us and not making eye contact with us on purpose. We did ask at one point if they were serving food and after getting a “yes” in response, we still did not get any service. I’m more than happy to give a free pass for slow or sub par service on a busy night, but being treated like we didn’t exist is something I’ve never experienced before. We ended up going to Tryst down the street which was completely slammed busy, but we sat down and had service almost immediately.I unfortunately cannot comment on the food or drinks because we never got to that point. It almost seemed as if the staff there was only really helping and serving people they knew personally. Perhaps we could have been more forceful and vocal about our irritation, but by that point we had universally decided we were done with Novu.
Awesone..Good food, beautiful people, the music isnt loud?..so we can talk. The staff are polite always smilling. We love it. Sofisticated, honest price.
Great place to have a specialty cocktail and appetizer. Friendly staff and quick service.
I was looking for Italian restaurant in the area, and this one appeared. We got disappointed because it’s a hotel bar and has some tables in the street.Drinks were ok.Meat balls boring.Goat cheese fritters were delicious.Crab Mac and cheese was good.Steak was delicious, potato has no taste.
Not a great experience. We were ignored when we arrived. Had to interrupt the staff to get noticed. We tried to order a drink from the bar but the young woman did not want to help. We asked if they had Jack Daniel's and she coldly said no with a blank stare. We asked what types of whiskey they did have and she pointed at the shelf then turned around and ignored us. We had a nice young man who said he just started there as our server. He brought us drinks and was excellent. The seating area was dirty with dead plants. The food was good, however the portions were super tiny. Everyone left hungry.
I can say the staff is friendly and that warrants one star. Everything else was a bad experience. The server who started us off "had to leavburgere".Overall it took over an hour to get a . The burger was ordered medium but came out rare - an hour after ordering. We also got crab stuffed shrimp which turned out to be 3 small shrimp with a bit of crab on top. Pretty minimal for a $21 entree. The server offered bread while we waited - but never brought it.The server offered mayo for the burger - but never brought it.The $8 garden salad was a plate of chopped romaine with a few slices of cucumber and a few small tomato chunks.Summary: 90 minutes to get a sub-par salad and under cooked burger all with poor service.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing people. Like a European Bistro. Dine outside with beautiful St Petersburg. Been here several times and keep coming back. You can't stay away from this food and atmosphere. A must have if you are visiting or a local!
Food is delicious and reasonable. Did not have to wait long. It was very chilly Sat evening, and they even provided blankets as well as heat lamps, which was much appreciated! All the uptown restaurants were packed and noisy.
Five stars for outstanding hospitality. Great authentic Italian bistro. Quaint little place with lots of charm. Our new favorite in the heart of St Pete.
Awesome little spot that reminds me of a European style cafe. Owner stopped by to chat and was super friendly which made me want to come back in the future. Pretty bitchin happy hour too!!!
