A local favorite of ours and they continue to deliver good meals each time that we visit! Tonight I went with my favorite, The Spicy Steak Sandwich, and my wife got the Duck Tacos on Corn Tortillas. As an appetizer we started with their Rainbow sushi roll and this is a must if you’re looking to wet your appetite a bit before the entree hits the table. We weren’t looking to drink, however, we opted to go with a mock tail tonight called The Saint; peach, mint, lime, and spritz! So good.If you are visiting St. Pete, this is an easy recommendation during your stay. As always, I like to include an aftermath photo showing my part of the clean plate club, ha.
I don’t give many five star reviews but Mangosteen certainly earned one today. Everything we had was wonderful. The veggie spring rolls and the pork dumplings were hot, fresh, and delicious. The Bohemian Chickie was FANTASTIC! You have to go. Trust me, you’re going to LOVE IT!
A new local favorite. The atmosphere is cool but the food is even better ! I had “The Saint” mocktail and their duck tacos. My husband had the steak sandwich. Not pictured here is the Rainbow Roll we got as an appetizer. All of it was very good.The only con is parking can be a pain depending on when you visit.
Mangosteen is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in downtown St. Pete (DTSP). Diverse menu. Awesome indoor/ outdoor space. Nice large bar. Nicholas rocks- as does Allen, Joey, & Corey. Attentive staff. Talented mixologists. Great management. (No, I don't work here. lol) Pictures: Pork Gyoza in spicy oil (can't get enough of this), Lao Lemongrass warm bowl, Mangosteen noodle and yes, a legit-size, Ketel One (or was it Tito's?) martini. Instantly one of my fave restaurants in St. Pete! Such good vibes here…with awesome drinks & food, too!! Tropical-ish chic decor with laid back yet very efficient & kind service. 90’s Baby & 22-43 cocktails were Amaze. Could not decide which was better. Then, in order of WoW here…the Spider Roll, Spicy Korean BBQ tacos, Pineapple Upside down Cake (not on the menu..ask for it!!!), Spicy Pork Dumplings (ask for them seared…for a little extra krunchy) & Seared Beef roll. We’ll be back. For sure. Loved our server, Alanna :-)
I had the pink dragon ball z drink, I don't recall what my wife had. Then the duck dumplings and spicy tuna roll for appetizers. Then the drunken noodles (near) and pad lao (far). Everything was delicious and enjoyable. There was a nice variety of specialty cocktails to satisfy most booze preferences. The roll had a nice but not overbearing spice to it. The duck dumplings had... duck... So you can't really go wrong there in my opinion. We both liked the taste of the Pad Lao a little better than the drunken noodles, which were still excellent, but that could be just because we both really like Pad Thai which it resembles. Overall we were very pleased with the choice to eat here. The atmosphere is also very nice, it has an airy urban trendy feel. I liked the varied seating options as well. You can sit inside, outside, at the bar or at the sushi bar so you can cater the experience to what you feel in the moment.
Fresh, clean, open, and vibrant space. There is plenty of room for a date night or a party of 10. Menu covers a little bit of everything: tacos, bowls, noodles, skewers, sushi, etc. Service was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. Food and drinks were refreshing, filling, and with lots of flavor. This is definitely a new go-to spot in DTSP.
The ? dumplings were delicious with the dipping sauce.My second dish was shrimp fried rice and it was phenomenal.Definitely going back to try other items on their menu.Great introduction to the restaurant.
Cute spot. Be aware parking is limited and timed. Food was OK. Drunken Noodles a bit over cooked and lacked flavor (sent back the Bohemian Chickie, was very dry and bland) Pad Lao was good.
This place is great! Nice vibe with indoor and outdoor seating, very unique menu,and great customer service (shoutout to Carlyn!). I had the fish tacos and will definitely be back to try more items :)
