My family and I came here after seeing Top Gun: Maverick at the AMC Sundial IMAX, and let me just tell you...the food and service were both AMAZING!!! The sushi was so fresh, the curry was delicious, the portions were huge, and everything was just seemless. Alot of us got a full sushi rolls (Wallflower, Big Daddy, and Paul), and they were so big. Also, the plate of fried rice is huge as well. Everything was just so delicious and after having two failed visits to Sushi, Inc. a few blocks away, I am so happy to know that there is an amazing place for us to grab some sushi whenever we are coming up from Sarasota. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!!!
Very yummy Thai tea and crab rangoon, the fried veggie spring rolls were pretty good. Not a big fan of their green curry but everything else made the overall meal good. Definitely will be back for the Thai tea and crab rangoon! I was confused by both fried items coming with the same classic Thai dipping sauce, though, since the menu says the crab rangoon is supposed to come with plum sauce. I love the classic sauce, but yeah. I'm guessing they were just out of it today or something, I hope to try their plum sauce in the future!
Since the Lemon Grass doesn’t accept reservations, we were lucky to grab a table outdoors in the early evening to eat our meals. Service was slow and inconsistent even though the servers were pleasant and meant well. Food was pretty good but not great. My favorite dish was their soup. The Tom Kha Gai was a delicious concoction of chicken in coconut milk soup, cooked with chili paste, lemon juice, galangal root, lemongrass, fresh mushroom, scallion, cilantro, and tomato. Everything else paled in comparison. Sources say that the vegetable soup used to be better when the broth wasn’t certifiably vegan. And while pretty, the sashimi boat appeared a bit too reliant on artificial crab. It’s important to note that the portion of pad thai that my wife received was inhumanely large. Cherry Wonderdog would have preferred fewer noodles and something to accompany the dish – perhaps a small salad. After all, there’s something to be said for balance – quantity isn’t everything for a healthy and rewarding culinary experience. While it’s nice that we got food to take out, that isn’t usually the primary goal of restaurant goers. As for my Massaman Curry, which was well-prepared with potato, avocado, cashew nuts, curry paste, and coconut milk, it was also pretty good but, like the pad Thai, overwhelming. With something so rich and powerful, it’s best to limit the quantity to allow the palate to experience something else, too. Upgrading future performance from three to four or even five stars by Lemongrass seems more than possible, Cherry Wonderdog believes. The restaurant needs to consult with a few culinary experts to help it focus on the overall dining experience as opposed to just price-performance.
Been there several times - a great place to grab a bite before checking-out the Chiluly gallery a couple of blocks away. The food is authentic (REAL wasabi!) and the service is consistently good. You csn watch your meal prepared - I always like that!
Great servers, delicious food, fast service. Overall wonderful experience and definitely a place to stop by if you’re in St Pete!
This place is terrible. Don't let the other reviews fool you. Overpriced and horrible service. I asked for a straw for my drink and the waiter literally told me they are limited and he doesn't know if I would be able to get some EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A FREAKING CUP FULL OF THEM NEXT TO US, so half the time I had to serve myself and get chop stick and straws myself. I've been to a ton of Thai restaurants but none as disgusting as this one. Normally when you order duck and clear noodles at any other place, the duck is usually sliced up and left to the side or on top. They had it mixed in with the noodle, and the noodles became really soggy. To be honest skip this place. Tampa and St Pete have a ton of other great places you can go to which are cheaper and provide a better experience. This place is a tourist trap. These reviews that have 5 stars gotta be paid reviews, because this place is awful
Was craving curry for quite a while when I saw Lemongrass served all manor of Asian fair. Can honestly say it was the worst I've ever had. The veggies with peanut sauce were swimming in water and so over cooked it was like mush. The curry was only half cooked and extremely bland. Portion size was generous but when it tastes this bad, that doesn't matter. I live 4 blocks away so it's not like the food over steamed on the ride home. Really disappointed. Tea was good though. Expected way better quality for the price
The food looks good, but if you are someone who eats sushi and likes it, This place is not it. You won't find any of your common rolls even if they are the same name. I got the spicy tuna, thinking it was the normal spicy tuna, it was just a little tuna and a jalapeno. It was fresh, but not what I was expecting. The salmon and cream cheese roll was not smoked salmon, which I thought would be good but it just tasted meek. We also got the "Thai" lunch, it was just stir fry veggies in a sauce and white rice, we got sick from it.
This place was great! Lots of different ways you can order as most items are available as a half roll, full roll, or cone. I’d highly recommend this place if you want Thai, sushi, or just mix and match lots of different varieties of food. Everything was great!
Lemongrass has great food and the staff are really wonderful. We were here Christmas night and they were very very busy but we got a table in about half hour. We live this place and the prices are reasonable. They give you enough food that you have leftovers to take home. Will be back.
