My 3rd time coming and have not been disappointed. The caulilini very tasty and I ordered pork belly tacos… the manager James came over because they were out of the sauce ( very personable). So I’m switched to the burnt end tacos - very delicious!! We sat at the bar and Tray provided Awsome service … above & beyond. Thank you for another tasty experience.

We went to Dr. BBQ recently on a Monday for lunch. The venue looks very cool and definitely fits a bbq restaurant. You can smell the smoke as you enter the dining area (there is also outdoor seating). Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The menu offers some intriguing variants of normal bbq staples. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, which came with fries. The sandwich included purple slaw on it, and the fries were uniquely cut slices of potato which were seasoned with salt and pepper nicely. The pork was moist and delicious, but the chunks were large enough that it made it impossible for my wife to eat it as a sandwich, and had to bring out the fork and knife. I ordered the Texas Two Step - a combo dinner of two meats and two sides. I ordered brisket and turkey, but was told they were out of turkey, sausage, and half chickens. That eliminated a good portion of the menu, so I went with pulled chicken. For sides I had "cowboy caviar" - a chilled mix of black beans, corn, cilantro, onion, and jalepeno. The menu did not indicate this was served chilled, and had I known it was not a warm dish, I would have opted for something else. I also ordered the Jack Daniels baked beans, and the whiskey flavor was indeed noticeable. The brisket was tender and delicious, while the pulled chicken was a bit on the dry side. The sauces were tasty and went well with the various meats. Each of the sauces had at least a little heat to them. We decided to order a dessert that actually appeared on the appetizer menu - grilled pineapple. It was the most disappointing thing we ate on this visit. It came with no grill marks and no cinnamon glaze that was visible even though it was given in the menu description. Upon tasting it, the pineapple was still mostly raw, and it was obvious that they had just thrown it in the smoker. It was smudged with soot and tasted heavily of smoke. We left the dish after tasting a few bites. We have seen Dr. BBQ on the Food Network and hoped that it would be a truly memorable bbq experience. Unfortunately, it was not. We are not upset that we tried it, but we would not be likely to return based on our experience.

We’ve traveled around the country sampling bbq, so we know what good bbq tastes like. This was one of the biggest disappointments. Brisket was extremely dry, pulled pork had no flavor, fries were cold. The server did send a second plate, the fries were warm but the meats were unchanged. Definitely not what we were expecting.

Last weekend attended a graduation luncheon at Dr. BBQ The Restaurant had a great time. However, in checking my credit card statement realized I was double charged.Contacted the restaurant Tuesday at 11:39 a.m. by 11:47 a.m. the manager Tyler was calling me back and by 11:51 a.m. he had researched and I was receiving a text showing refund initiated. Checked my statement and it's completed ?I wanted everyone to know that it is because of the customer service I received from Tyler that I would go back to Dr BBQ again. I can get barbecue from various places but stellar customer service is priceless‼️ especially in these timesWay to go Tyler for giving my transaction concerns IMMEDIATE attention and taking accountability to fix it! ??

The service hasn't always been consistent however for a BBQ joint, hands down my favorite. Nice atmosphere and options for everyone.

A tasty option for a tasty, touristy town. Dr. BBQ knows how to sling a plate of meat (seriously, try the sticky sweet Burnt Ends). If you're used to Dickie's or Red Hot and Blue, you'll probably find this one step above with its own creativity and a spark of Asian fusion. If you're used to the hole in the wall where all the Sherrif's deputies pile in at lunchtime or you follow the beatup smoker that gets dragged from gas station to gas station, you might miss the home-cooked intimacy that gives Q its comforting embrace. The place, however, can fill its big vaulted room AND the outdoor seating so they're doing something right. It's definitely worth a try.

Giving this place a four mainly for the backed beans. Absolutely delicious and a must! The chicken was good - like the bbq sauce options. Wouldn’t recommend the Mac and cheese, but go for fries instead!

A great place for real BBQ. The food was great and portions were more than enough. I had the Brisket and Pulled Pork. Both were tender, juicy, and filled with natural wood smoke flavor. The Q the Nachos were phenomenal. Fresh fried pork rinds in place of the normal chips, covered with cheese and big chunks of smoked Brisket have ruined me for any other Nachos. If you're around St Pete, do yourself a favor and stop by Dr BBQ's restaurant and treat yourself to great BBQ.

Dr. BBQ is fantastic! Obviously, the barbecue and sides are terrific, but don't miss out on the amazing bourbon list! One of the best lists anywhere at prices that are a steal. Now, for the food! It's exactly what a barbecue restaurant should be. Portions are large so I recommend sharing. The pulled pork sandwich is amazing. Everything I tried mains and sides were extraordinary. Don't miss this place!

Not at all impressed with this place. This is my second time and both times had a bad experience. The atmosphere seems great and staff are friendly.Food was bland and I was served 2 pieces of full fat for what was supposed to be beef Brisket. I did mention this to server by the time it came out I was already done asking for my check . You would've thought they would've offered us a dessert or even taken a portion of the bill off. NopeHopefully others have a better experience
