I've been eating at Fat Boys for probably 50 years without issues until Saturday the 21st. First off both our meals were less than room temperature, the coleslaw had a real strong sour taste my wife's chicken was dry out just like my ribs. The French fries taste like they sat out for a while.we told the waitress she was very polite and apologized and offered to get us a reorder, we had to decline because we were on our way to the airport and we're pressed for time.
Had a nice Linner there. Our server was helpful and friendly. Food is very good. I enjoy the BBQ. Salad bar is clean a fresh and tasty. Had some pickled okra. Never needed drink refills. Bottomless cups our server was on top of things. Now the place is rustic. But the food is very good. Overall I have and will be a repeat customer. Worth your time. Delicious BBQ.
Food was good but a roach came out from under the booth somewhere and crawled on my wife. Needless to say at that point we were done. Waitress was super nice about the whole ordeal and they took care of the bill. Rating is based on roach issue the waitress was amazing though.
The food was mediocre. Restaurant interior is dated and smells bad. The fries were hot. The burger, ribs, sliced beef, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans were barely warm. The portion of fries was too large compared to the portion of mac and cheese and beans we received. The waitress was great but did seem overworked.
We usually hit Fat Boy's when we visit our grandkids. It's usually pretty good. Unfortunately, it's gone down some, it's not as clean as it used to be. The food is still great and the staff too. However, I think they are suffering from a lack of manpower just like every other restaurant. You have to wait for a table, but the dining room is only half full. They don't want to seat you if they can't wait on you. I've experienced it at a lot of restaurants lately.I think management needs to pay overtime for a a few people to do a DEEP clean. Being short staffed is one thing, keeping a restaurant clean is another.
The smell outside before we went in made the experience that much better. The lady at the register, so nice! We ordered BBQ sandwiches and the pulled pork was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. We were about 30 minutes down the road and said we should've gotten two they were that good. I'm glad I got to experience that greatness! I'll most DEFINITELY be back the next time I'm near!
We are moving to St. Cloud and trying out different restaurants in the area. We were told that Fat Boy's was great restaurant. At end of the day I have to say its ok and nothing to write home about. But that me. Now, concerning my wife : she will not come back to this restaurant. Here is why. The BBQ chicken was cold. I do mean cold. If I had temp gun, I am sure it would came in at 60 degrees. Nowhere near 110 - 130 degrees. The beef was little warmer. The only two things on platter was at temp was the corn-on-cob and pork ribs. My wife asked waitress several times what ingredient was in the salad dressings. She never told my wife what was in the dressings. I can tell that chicken, beef, and ribs had a great flavor, but from a food safety I have a big concern. Especially, when it come to chicken and pork. When I was checking out, the cashier asked me how was everything. I told her my wife will be not because the food was cold. A manager or someone in charge was at the counter when I told the cashier. She ask me exactly what was wrong. And I told her. I would say the manager heard me. But did not address my concerns directly. Meaning she did not try to retain me as a customer any form or fashion. She did state she was going to kitchen to check on there food temp, because they never serve cold food. There was no way manager was going convince my wife to ever come back, but the manager could attempted ensure me that this was a one-off situation and would take steps to serve hot food. But she did not even attempt to do that. So, that tells me they do not care if.
I was trying to put FIVE STARSIt's always the taste your hungry for. Great waitress. Our 4year old Great Granddaughter said Gramma she's a good cooker girl. Keep on keeping on. God Bless all...an God Bless Our favorite America.
Food was great and the service was wonderful. Second time I've been and i have not been disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere
It was all very good again, as always I ate light. Which wasn't usual. I had the smoked turkey sandwich with beans and coleslaw. And enjoyed it all filled me up. Wasn't crowded. Met a couple of old friends.
