I’m an employee at Sumo sushi full-time and I feel like it’s the most amazing job ever. I worked at many different places and the managers all have their own reasons for being strict and it’s amazing to see a balance between strict and also reassuring. I work in an environment where if you have a question you are encouraged to ask your team members so that we can get the answer together. I love welcoming my my guest in and giving them a happy experience as well as showing them that even though every place makes mistakes we always strive to move forward at the end of the day. We love joking around with you guys and we hope we can give you guys a joyful experience. Thank you guys!!!
Don't order through Beyond Menu app. They cannot see your order for some reason but still charge you. I had to call the restaurant and Beyond Menu to resolve this issue.Food was good though. Yummy yummy roll is was I recommend for those that like cooked sushi.
Didn’t feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and when it came time to put in our order, the hostess made the comment of “can’t wait for the chef to yell at me for this” due to me saying we have a shellfish allergy. Normally places just cook that last to avoid issues, but we decided to leave after she took our order. Manager didn’t seem to try and stop us but just said I’m sorry this happened. I don’t normally do reviews but just don’t understand why the comment had to be made.
Traveled to St John’s to visit my daughter to housesit for her to pet cats while she goes on her honeymoon.I had no idea where I was or what to expect coming from Miami and now Boca Raton and the metropolitan city of Miami is definitely different!Im in St. John’s County. It’s a very small city where everything is pretty far away from each other.I drove by this restaurant sumo sushi and Steakhouse. Starving as there’s no food in the fridge raider I stopped and ordered takeout at the sushi bar.OK let’s get into the meat of the matter shall we?I had no idea this was a true hibachi place plus sushi signature rolls. I’m thinking Benihana right now.Not in the mood for hibachi. Trying to eat clean. So, I asked if they had rice less rolls. William the person that took my to go order while I waited at the very nice sushi bar recommended one. I wanted about 15mins and my “to go” order was ready. This is a scaled down kind of like a Benihana version. It is family run and has an adequate amount of staff.I find this restaurant to be service oriented while giving each customer fresh sushi, a hibachi show that rivals Benihana and reasonable prices.
Service was great and food was good. The layout of the dining is odd but you get over it.
Slow service and the food isn't very good. Got the udon and there were too many vegetables in it. The broth was not udon broth, instead some kind of vegetable broth. The sushi and sashimi is very low quality.
Chef choice + spicy tuna. Excellent food and excellent service. I would definitely go again
I find the service and food always amazing.
All I wanted after a long day of trial prep was filet and shrimp hibachi. First picture: What I ordered. Second Picture: What they wanted me to have. When people so “no x,y,x” it’s because they don’t care for it or allergic. Money wasted. 20% off my next meal does me no good when I will not be returning.
I ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon lunch combo. They just provided spicy mayo on the side, so felt like I had to make my own rolls. The rolls were basically 20% fish and 80% tempura flakes. Will not order from here again.
