Stopped here on a whim. Excellent place to eat! We got a pepperoni pizza, nothing fancy, but it was piping hot fresh. The dough was delicious and definitely not frozen and shipped. The drinks are amazing also. I had the Madi Mama and oh my goodness... heaven. I highly recommend making this a stop in St Augustine. Ellen was our server and she was also amazing. Great experience.
The live entertainer Brandon Wallace made up for the mediocre food presentation and quality. We chose outdoor seating, despite the heat, in order to escape the 20 minute wait. We made the right choice. The fans added to the breeze, making the porch dining very pleasant. We finished our meal within an hour. We skipped dessert for the many treats in nearby shops. You may want to pack an extra bottle of water or two. The establishment may not have that super duper filtration system that makes some FL water palatable.
What a fantastic restaurant! Superb Italian food with attentive staff. It was our first time but it won't be our last.
The pizza here is great, the crust is my favorite! Calamari was not what I was expecting- extra crispy- but the flavor was delicious still. The lemon drop martini was one of the best I've had!
You might miss Pizzalley's amongst all the touristy spots in downtown St. Augustine if you're not looking hard enough, but you definitely don't want to miss this back alley Italian Restaurant! My wife and I tried the Chianti room and we were not disappointed. We were seated straight away and the waitress was polite and prompt. My wife ordered the Chianti and I had a Key Lime Pie Martini, both of which were great. We started with the bruschetta which was delicious, but my wife and I were torn on whether or not the fresh mozzarella brought anything to dish (I enjoyed it, she could have done without it) but the bread was light and crispy and the tomatoes were juicy. With the entrees came our soup, salad, and bread sticks which came out well before the meal. The bread sticks were good with the light sprinkle of cheese on the top. The salad was good as was the Soup de Jour which was an Italian Wedding soup. Before the entrees we also ordered a margarita pizza. If you are used to a traditional margarita pizza (with San Marzano tomato sauce), you may not like this one, but we enjoyed it! It doesn't come with the sauce (as indicated on the menu and by the waitress before we ordered it) but the tomato was fresh and juicy, there was so much cheese, and the crust was perfectly crispy. Delicious! Then the entrees came out. My wife had the Catch of the Day Special which was fried grouper. The portion size was massive! Great flavor and beautifully crusted! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with spinach and absolutely loved it. I had nothing to complain. The sauce was flavorful and stuck to the noodles without being too gloopy or clumpy and the spinach added a nice flavor too. We were too stuffed for dessert, but if they're anything like the meal we had, we'll be back to try them soon!
A relaxed casual atmosphere with good pizza and well poured drinks. I would definitely go back......the crust is worth the trip
Just what we needed. Breadsticks and marinara sauce hit the spot to start. Speciality pizza was delicious and just the right size for two.
The food was delicious and portions easily shareable. The wait staff friendly. The best restaurant we ate at while in town.
Im not sure what's going on there... I entered a building that was under construction and walked down a long hallway. I went to the greeters desk and was told to see the bartender in the other room to order my take out pizza. the bartender thn directed me to a window in the alley with the garbage cans etc. An incredibly wonderful young lady took my order and told me to com back in 15 minutes. I did. This young lady provided me with everything I needed. Wonderful! My mouth was watering as I walked back to the room. Unfortunately, it was thw worst pizza ever. Undercooked, doughy, very bland sauce, raw mushroom...blah. i havent written a review in years. i felt compelled to write only because i was so disappointed. If not for the excellent, sweet order taker, this would haave been a total bust.
Pleasant dinner outside in porch. We are longtime locals and enjoy St Augustine’s many good restaurants. However, we had not tried this one until son and family gave us a gift certificate. So glad they did! We enjoyed excellent mussels in white wine & garlic sauce as an appetizer. Plenty to share! My husband ordered the Pescatori Seafood with shrimp, mussels and pasta. My entrée was a Antipasta Salad; loaded with meat! Took half of everything home. Only negative is that their sign is not well placed when viewed from parking lot. Didn’t know we had arrived until second time around when we made out “Italian” on sign near rooftop. Very good experience.
