Looking to have a nice lunch we stumbled upon Nero's in beautiful St. Augustine. We later found out that this is a very popular restaurant and I can see why. Great staff, excellent food and awesome outside seating. Our server, Dennis, was full of energy and very friendly. The restaurant is located on A1A and has a beautiful view of St. Augustine inlet. The restaurant is very unique and has a great personality. The food was excellent and well prepared. I had the Saratoga Club sandwich (wrap) and fries. The wrap was packed full of bacon, ham, turkey, lettuce and tomato, and was fresh and tasty. The fries were hot, crispy and soft inside. Overall, a great dinning experience and nice relaxing atmosphere.
Excellent quality food and very fresh. Service was great with a very polite and attentive waitress. Expect an excellwnt view of the river while dining. Will definitely be back again!
Great view! Beyond awful layout of tables, VERY cramped quarters to eat. Also quite expensive; our 2 egg breakfast with breakfast potatoes, bacon, and toast was $18 a person, add coffee and orange juice and our total for breakfast was $48 and it was no where near as good as Waffle House, which serves the exact same food. Hit this place up later in the day for a cocktail or martini but definitely skip it for breakfast. I also had to chase down my own silverware for our table, even after asking 2 different servers after our food came out.
So I can't even really share how the food would have been. I always love sharing great experiences as I do my best to never give negative feedback. But I was very upset with how I was treated here. My experience starts at the front. Standing there waiting to be acknowledged. The hostess they have at the front needs to learn how to properly greet people and share with them the wait times. We were ignored for minutes by the hostess until she told us to step back and wait in another spot. There is a way to talk to customers...that is not acceptable.Another gentleman came up to the couple in front of us to share about the wait time. Again, never acknowledging us or even looking in our direction. We decided to leave as the start of our time and experience at this establishment was already soured. I see why they have a poor rating now.
This was one of the more reasonably priced places to have breakfast. The food was fresh, hot and tasty!
This is a A nice boutique Hotel located in old town. Although rooms are small they are clean and comfortable. Staff is great and the wait staff in the restaurant is superb. I highly recommend this place as a good destination.
We were walking around looking for a breakfast place and accidentally stumbled upon the BEST one! Incredible food and amazing drinks. Wish we were staying longer so we could come back.
Gave Nero’s a chance despite the reviews. However, the picture should speak volumes. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The eggs were over cooked, and there are no sides offered. Server was polite but she poured coffee over my lap and subsequently coffee spilled on to my leg. Save yourself the money and disappointment and keep walking past Nero’s.
I asked before we got a table whether the seafood was fresh, and got an immediate NO from the Maitre'De. I would have thought that a restaurant that had people standing in line behind a red rope would have fresh seafood- not frozen, in this type of setting. Disappointed, but found that Harry's on the next block down has fresh shipments DAILY, and the Shrimp & Grouper there was awesome !!!
Food was really exceptional as was the service.
