The ambience was very laid back and chill. You can walk straight from the beach to the restaurant. The food is nicely seasoned. They even provide extra seasoning on the table if you need a bit more pep. My only critique was the rice. If you are a rice eater then you may find the rice to be undercooked. So, if the management is reading this, you may consider steaming the rice a little longer. Oh, the wings are delicious. Try the wings when you go.
Mango Mango never fails with a great dining experience. My ahi tuna wrap was fantastic, and everyone in our party of 7 liked their meal. The bar has beer and wine only, but a good selection of that. The menu is varied and the location (A1A Beach at A Street) is terrific for the entire north end of Anastasia Island.
We drove in from SC. And we were very hungry. This was the first place on my list to try and we are glad we did. We sat down as soon as we arrived. Unlike most other places so far. We ate the shrimp tacos, Tuna Sandwich, and childrens fish plate. All were very good and the staff was great too. We will be back.
We ate here after a long day of exploring the Downtown area. Hubby and I shared the fish dip which was great! Hubs had the crab cakes and I had the Cuban. Both were fabulous. They were busy but we were attended to with fast and friendly service!
Haddock tacos and the shrimp were both absolutely sublime, and happy hour drinks prices were just ridiculous - such amazing value and left us with a perfect food coma. I didn’t get our servers name but he was great too. Top marks all around!
Wonderful mom and pop joint.A great way to beat the chain shops. Great flavors and a menu with variety really make this a must visit place. The fried plantains and corn cakes are the biggest hits!My only complaint is that everything is just a little saucy/wet. Normally, I can be okay with that but the sauces are also a bit sweet. This overwhelms the taste buds a little. A fish or shrimp taco should not really be dripping sweet sauce.
Cute interior and the service is very friendly, but there are some bumps and the food is hit or miss. There was plenty of seating when we arrived and we chose to take a table in the "back". I guess the front is the enclosed patio area, then there are some booths along a corridor toward the back section.Seating was tight and uncomfortable. There is a large condiment tray on every table full of sauces and seasonings which is cool at first until the food starts arriving and you realize there is no place to put it.Although the hostess explained the seating options and we told her we were heading to the back, we could not get a server to come over until I asked someone who it was. Once assigned, our server was very friendly and personable, but we had to wait quite a while. I don't have a problem waiting once we're greeted so we know who is taking care of us, but this was a concern. In the entire back room, there was only one other table seated besides ours. Their server went three times to their table without even batting an eye at us, so I finally had to yell out to get his attention. After that, our server came and apologized. We ordered the conch fritters and the corn cakes for appetizers. The conch fritters were mostly dough with little flavor, although the dipping sauce was okay. I guess that is why they have so many condiments available. The corn cakes are amazing, a very unique item that was very enjoyable. they come with cheese, avocado, and other goodies on top and are quite yummy.Entrees were sort of blah. My daughter's tuna wrap "with a little teriyaki" came drenched in it, ruining the delicate taste of the tuna. Shrimp and tuna tacos were okay, not great, not terrible. My mahi mahi was a bit dry, but the slaw and yucca fries I ordered as sides were fantastic.Overall, some good, some bad. Maybe we would try again.
Very convenient to the hotel we were staying in and it was recommended as a place we could walk to. Still not sure where the front door is (we came in the back and left through the side!) It is a friendly place with good service. Simple good food with every possible hot sauce on the table to try.
A beach staff member at our motel told us about Mango's. He bragged on the food and highly recommended it as the best food in St. Augustine. We went had the Havanna, Cabana, Mahi Mahi. At first I thought the portions were small but the sides were generous and we left very happy we tried MangoS
Four of us decided to eat here before leaving the St. Augustine Beach area and head back to our perspective homes. Our server Priscilla B. did an excellent job of taking care of us from start to finish. The food was really good and the atmosphere was lively and upbeat. This is a great place for a meal and/or some drinks.
