We came in 2017 and had a great experience. Fast foward and COVID did a number for sure. Food was disgusting took 20 mins to be acknowledged at table by any of the 3 girls in a room of 5 patrons not including us. Husband could not eat any of his seafood because all tasted funny. We paid and left. Margarita was terrible cant even explain what it tasted like. And very warm. Only good thing we ate and kids ate were fried pickles.
My husband and I stopped here on our road trip. It’s right off of highway one so it’s an easy pit stop! Our waitress was Laraine and she was very accommodating and such a delight. The atmosphere is nice - very laidback marina seafood joint. There’s a large bar with room for standing and there is seating inside and outside. The patio seating is big - plenty of tables for parties of 8. Although there is a lot of outdoor seating, there are only a few tables where you get a water view, the rest is just a view of the parking lot which was a bummer. We came at a very slow time (middle of the week for lunch) so we were able to get a seat close to the water. Indoor seating gives you a nice view of the water and marina!Their food was just fine - we got the crab cakes and the shrimp and grits. Neither was bad but I would not suggest it if someone wanted really good seafood. They have a handicap accessible ramp up to the restaurant as well.
When you run out of item that go with a dish you never just put on plate what you want you ask the dinner first for the price point poor quality a spoon full coleslaw and cold fries do not gut it and your waiter told and offers no percentage off wont bring me back too many places to eat.
We were disappointed. The food at best was average. The hurricane shrimp were over cooked and rubbery. The blackened grouper was fair. The smoked fish dip was average but the chips to dip with were stale and awful.. didn’t even eat them. They were out of crab legs & coffee. They had a small variety for sides . We would not recommend.
The lady had alfredo with shrimp. Good sized shrimp for only $4 extra and cooked perfectly as well as the noodles. The left over shrimp was good even cold the following day. I had cajun alfredo with shrimp added. The sauce was delicious and the andouille sausage added a nice spiceyness. No leftover shrimp for me. Her mixed drink packed a punch and my beer went well with my entree. IAN, our server was so accomodating and unpretentious. After our meal he pulled up a chair and told about things to do in St Augustine. The water views were peaceful. Heck a waterfront bar and restaurant but it was a perfect stop on our way up the eastern seaboard.
Luckily, we had a table on the porch overlooking the water. We never went inside. Our waitress was delightful. The food was mixed. The Hurricane Crab was mix of crab and pimento cheese. Do not suggest anyone order this. In contrast, the seafood pasta was fine. And then Minorcan chowder was divine. Would go back just for the chowder and eat on the porch.
Poor service - waited 45 minutes just to have drinks . When food finally arrived - half of the orders were wrong . Next I cook at home for special occasion with family. Ruined the rest of our day.
This was good kitschy fun. The food is the typical assortment of fried, boiled, or grilled seafood. Good place for large parties and those with kids. Live music was a nice surprise on the night we visited.
My husband and I met friends at Hurricane Patty's for an early Saturday evening dinner and to enjoy a popular local musician's performance. Our seating outside was fine and the service was exceptional for a busy time.I ordered the "catch of the day", Pompano and my husband ordered grouper. BOTH FISH PRESENTATIONS WERE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Neither appeared to be fresh caught seafood, my pompano was a perfect rectangle shape, less than 1/4 inch thick and grilled into a dry, tough plank...:lemon and tartar sauce couldn't save it...the grouper was very similar, my husband a lifelong grouper fan, did not feel the fish presented to him was even grouper!! We did find our appetizers (shrimp and wings) ok. All in all we would go back to Hurricane Patty's for an afternoon of bar food and drinks with good music outside ... AS FOR DINNER...NO WAY!
Beautiful spring evening and gorgeous sunset. Enjoyed sitting outside for sure! Drinks were cold and tasty. Mahi appetizer was incredible. Tarter sauce cold and creamy. Mahi dinner grilled with fresh squash and yellow rice was amazing. You must try the chowder too. Service was great and ample parking.
